Publisher's summary

USA Today best-selling author and Amazon All-Star Award winner of The Last War series, The Age of Embers series, and the Swann series presents the Dark Days of the After series. This high octane, tour de force series is post-apocalyptic fiction at its finest!

This is the new America. The lights are out, the grid is fried, and war between two monstrous armies is breaking out all along the coastal states. Logan, Skylar and Harper thought they were prepared. They thought time was on their side. They even thought they were tough enough to survive, a notion they’re about to put to the test...

The Dark Days series puts ordinary citizens on the front lines of a domestic conflict that was never supposed to happen, one that will either unify the country or break her for good. This intense new tale of strength, survival, and patriotism marks the start of a brand new series critics are calling “jaw-dropping, ,“prolific”, and “a post-apocalyptic tour de force”.

Finally, characters who dont mess around.

Great book. Great series. Ryan Schow is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors in the genre. It's refreshing to not complain about characters doing exactly what they know will come back around to kill them later. The invasion/occupation makes for a good setting, and the characters themselves are realistic and interesting.

EMP Launch Ramps Up the Violence

Love Kevin Pierce's voice and reading style.

Logan Cahill has left Harper in Oregon to return to San Francisco. Skyler is again on the move with her warrior friend Ryker. The Madigan family in Five Falls, Oregon....Orby (mom), Conner (dad) , Stephanie (daughter) and the dog Cooper are putting their plans into action with Harper and Stephanie leading the charge. An EMP has been launched,so the violence ramps up. There are murders that while the reasoning is understandable in many ways, is still of questionable execution on one hand. On the other hand these are problems that won't come back to bite them later nor draw unnecessary resources. There are unusual team actions and betrayals. Never a dull moment!

Best Narrator in the Business

The story was very immersive and the depictions of the environments and world, as well as the events, had a lot of realism. While I enjoyed most of the characters their development often seemed unfinished. A chilling possible future. I'm looking forward to the next book and I would definitely recommend to series.

Good, could have been great...

While I am a big fan of this author, Ryan Schow, as well as this series "Dark Days," it feels like this audiobook was disjointed and hurried in certain places. Having said that, the storyline was still good and I will likely purchase the next audiobook in the series "Dark Days of the Apostasy."
There was a lot of action in this audiobook and with that came Kevin Peirce's almost flawless narration as he once again makes the post-apocalypse seemingly become high-definition in your mind.
If you like this review as well as the audiobook's description than by all means buy a copy and enjoy it for yourself!
I purchased my copy of this audiobook and I am freely giving my opinion and review of said audiobook.
