The Dragons of Earth

After weeks of scattered enemy intrusions into Earth's solar system resulting in the loss of several thousand defending Dragons, the full-scale extraterrestrial invasion began very close to the time humanity's alien allies predicted it would. Instead of appearing in one massive armada of ships as foretold, thousands of individual enemy ships approached Earth from every direction as if to cage in the entire solar system. Wave after wave of invading ships kept appearing, the nature of their weapons making thousands of defending Dragon fighter ships vanish without a trace of debris. Earth's admiralty had no way of knowing how long these waves would keep materializing or if Earth's defending forces had enough ships left to prevail. They also couldn't know that of all the massive losses the Earth's Defense Force was taking, not a single Dragon fighter was destroyed. The invaders had other plans for them.
