Now on Netflix as The Call to Courage

Every time we are introduced to someone new, try to be creative, or start a difficult conversation, we take a risk. We feel uncertain and exposed. We feel vulnerable. Most of us try to fight those feelings - we strive to appear perfect.

In a powerful new vision Dr Brené Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability, and dispels the widely accepted myth that it's a weakness. She argues that, in truth, vulnerability is strength and when we shut ourselves off from vulnerability - fromrevealing our true selves - we distance ourselves from the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives.

Daring Greatly is the culmination of 12 years of groundbreaking social research, across every area of our lives including home, relationships, work, and parenting. It is an invitation to be courageous; to show up and let ourselves be seen, even when there are no guarantees.

This is vulnerability. This is daring greatly.

Honest introspection and open conversations

The authentic, open and honest writing in the examples she shares and the principles that support it is refreshing. I enjoyed listening to this book. I loved her honesty in admitting that some things are hard for her and that it's ok. It creates a platform for honest introspection and open "me too" conversations.

Wow, Sis Snached my edges!

Loved this so much, I'll definitely listen many more times! Brene always knows just what to say to help you take a step closer to being a better person, friend, partner, parent and leader. I highly recommend this read to anyone who has struggled with shame or guilt or "abantu bazothini" syndrome

Necessary mirrors

Brené Brown is such a brilliant writer and researcher. I needed this book to kind of teach me how to be vulnerable, instead it held a mirror that is so necessary for me to see myself through. I’ve learned a lot about how to practice vulnerability but most importantly, how the lack of vulnerability is actually ruining the quality of my life, marriage and other relationships. This book will be my yearly read! I need the reminders and the teachings now more than ever.
