Publisher's summary

For those who reside in the outer regions of Aleria, the day of bestowal is what determines their destiny.

It is the holy day of the Goddess. The day that allows those of age to step forward and receive their blessing, to embark on the path that she has chosen for them. To receive their Classification, which dictates their strength and ability. For those people, the holy day of bestowal represents fate itself.

For Dante, it represents salvation.

Years have past since he found himself abandoned without memories: years of hunger, ostracization, and solitude on the streets of Alazel without any hope of reprieve; of entrapment at the hands of the creatures that roamed the wilds beyond the city walls that made leaving impossible.

Now, there is a chance for everything to change.

In a cruel world where power could be gained through slaughter, strength meant everything. For Dante, that meant that the last his hopes lay in the Goddess' blessing. A combat Classification would be a lifeline, a way for him to escape the hell he had been living in. Anything else would only mean death.

This is a fantasy story that is heavily influence by LitRPG elements, which include: classes, status screens, skills, leveling, and a form of experience gain, among other things.

This is a five star book

Give this book a chance just pst first half hour it takes off and is fantastic. I’m not big in to world building however the author does such an impressive job that I love it. My only issue was that the mc chose different class than I would of in his spot. That is seriously my only issue with this novel it is such a fun listen. Well built and thought out.

Now from my understanding some people bashed the author from the plot of the second book and he took a break from writing. I hope he understands that he did a fantastic job with this book and I hope he gives us more with another listen.

Encreadabe story line!

Very seldom is there an author who keeps you engaged from one chapter to the next. I can’t wait for his next book. Excellent details, character name choices, thought provoking leads. Can’t wait for his next book in the series because the ending of the story it appears Dante is moving to a higher level. (?)

Dante’s Immortality

Oh Dante Dante. How I wish there were more books to follow up. Well this book is worth it regardless. I listened to it a while back. And can’t remember if it would be misleading to call it lit rpg or not. But. For the most part it was. And one of the special ones that has its own creation and good enough to make it enjoyable even if your on the lit rpg bing

really good book

i got this book on a whim and i was not disappointed i was basically lied too from the reviews i was told that the story was predictable which was true in the first few hours but when it got into it i was actually checking the time like every 5 minutes they said that he was a op mc that hid his powers which isn't a total lie but way out of context this book is good but im kinda mad because ive lost hope that the second book is coming out luts see if the author is a one hit wonder or if he actually has writing skills

Would have been a great normal epic fantasy story

As an audiobook it was a bit irritating at times. I felt having stats read out all the time boring. The story itself made up for this distraction though.

In my opinion the story could have been so much better without the lit-rpg parts, but for fans of this sub-genre I highly recommend it!

Well written and narrated (despite some strange sound effects in the audio version).

Great book

I haven’t written to many reviews. But this book was so good I felt I needed too. This is easily one of the better books in this genre that I have had the pleasure of listening too. My only regret was that I don’t have more of it.

Wow, this is it!

I've listened to a lot of LitRPG books, and generally love the genre. This is a game changer. Usually, the plot involves players in a game. In this novel, it's a world with some character development game mechanics. This was a nice change and added to the story. Speaking of the story...this book has it all. Character development, adventure, intrigue, friendship, battle, and all the rest! I was engaged throughout, and the pace never let up. Narrated by the great Jeff Hays of Soundbooth Theater..need I say more! His narration brings you into the story and all voices are unique. His delivery is just at the right pace, and the way he conveyed emotion kept me on the edge of my chair. A great listen! Highly recommended.

Best LitRPG I have Read

I am not a fan of LitRPG, I usually avoid it, picking this Dante's Immortality up mostly by accident. That said, this book is very good for the genre. I really enjoyed the story and I hope that the author can get past his writer's block so that I can read the next book in the story.
