Knowing how to transform conflict is critical in both our personal and professional lives. Yet, by and large, we are terrible at it. The reason, says longtime mediator Chad Ford, is fear. When conflict comes, our instincts are to run or fight.
To transform conflict, Ford says we need to turn toward the people we are in conflict with, put down our physical and emotional weapons, and really love them with the kind of love that leads us to treat others as fellow human beings, not as objects in our way. We have to open ourselves up with no guarantee that anyone on the other side will do the same. To me, this is a must listen! I can’t imagine this not being a blessing to anyone who listens! Listening to this book could not only make a huge difference in whoever listens to this life, but in all their relations, and for the next seven generations and the world! I want what Chad has. feels so easy to apply in my life
My favorite part about Arbinger books and the way that Chad Ford writes is that I feel like I can listen to a story about other people and see myself so clearly in these characters. It helps me to look at my own relationships and try to make one little change to make something better.
It's nice to also laugh and hear interesting stories along the way.
