Publisher's summary

What if the Cold War went hot and your fate rested in the hands of a '70s cover band?

On a sunny summer day in 1978, the whole world went to hell. The US and USSR are waging World War 3 on American soil and life will never be the same again. The popular New England cover band, the Roadhouse Sons, find themselves struggling with the realities of rationing, curfews, black marketeering and the ever-present threat of nuclear annihilation. A chance encounter with a mysterious stranger finds them thrown into the world of international espionage, betrayal and murder!

Great listen for summer road-trip

Dangerous Gambles is a fast-paced, fun spy thriller with a lot of heart, and this audiobook version is truly excellent. Okay, maybe it's a little unusual that the narrator is clearly British while the story is set in the US, but honestly I was so engrossed by Trever Sewell's sultry voice and pitch-perfect performance that that didn't matter to me at all. It's enchanting.
