Outstanding

With so many other books out about war already available written by men I found this book very interesting. It was interesting to read what women go through while on deployments, something much of use probably don't even think about.

What a great story of a brave woman and her experience as a chopper pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you for your service.

I loved listening to it. It was hard to put down.. Get my interest from the beginning to the very end almost wished it wouldn't end

A well told story

A glimpse into what 58D life was like in and out of combat without any fluff

Real tear jerking stuff

This book was better than I expected. It not only exposed me to the reality of war through the eyes of a pilot but also acknowledged the unique challenges that women face in the service. As someone who does not like to let herself cry I was tearing up almost every chapter in this book, but that might be because it hits close to home.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this book so much I have read it on more than a few occasions.

Highly recommended reading for civilians

Absolutely outstanding history of a true warrior. Makes me proud to have flown Blackhawks during Desert Shield/Storm as a CW2 and to remember similar experiences. Amber Smith manages to capture the true essence of being a combat warrant officer pilot and explains her world for all to appreciate. I especially recommend this book for civilians, lest we forget the sacrifices of so many heroes like Ms. Smith.
