Publisher's Summary

Hanging up your dancing shoes isn't so easy when you can't let go of your former dance partner.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to the Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy, single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.

This is Adam's story....

Single dad of Seattle Adam Eastwood knows that dance school is just the thing for his precocious daughter, Mira. She already spends most days twirling around the house in a tutu and tiara, why not pay a professional to teach her how to do it properly? Only Adam didn't account for that professional to be the Violet Benson from a very famous New York ballet company. Not only is Violet a natural beauty who floats more than she dances, but she's the kind of woman Adam's been searching for all his life.

Grieving the loss of her dance partner and boyfriend, Violet is done with performing on stage. How can she go on when the love of her life is no longer there to catch her? Deciding a change is best, she moves back home to Seattle, determined to fulfill their dream of opening up a dance school. It's not until she's asked to dance for Art in the Park that she realizes maybe she's not quite ready to hang up her dance shoes. Would it be wrong to take the stage one last time? It must be wrong to feel what she feels when she's dancing with Mira's handsome father.

Adam's wounds are still fresh from his divorce, and Violet's dealing with a loss of her own, but somehow they keep winding up in each other's arms with neither of them willing to let go. But it's never easy to conquer the past. Will Violet let fear and grief keep her from her dreams? Or will Adam convince her that the show must go on and dancing with the single dad might just be the way for her to find her happily ever after?

Note: This book can be listened to as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧A Heartfelt Delight!

Whitely Cox pens another wonderful “Single Dad of Seattle” novel, the second in her series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. This book features single dad Adam Eastwood and his darling 4 1/2 year old daughter, Mira. Adam has accepted that his marriage is over and is on good terms with with his ex-wife and despite her struggles, she is trying to be a part of her daughter’s life. Violet Benson, a dancer who lost her dance and life partner, is fulfilling a dream by opening up this dance studio. She had no intention of finding another dance partner or performing on stage again, she is content with teaching others to dance. But something changes after meeting Adam, the single dad who accompanies his daughter, Mira to her class. This is a wonderful romance story and I loved how it all played out, the story is beautifully plotted and contains a whole lot of heart, there is also some drama, just a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments, so cute ones with Mira and some hot loving. Whitley Cox thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman are the stars of the show. They do an awesome job bringing these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Their portrayal of each character is spot on. They have a complete understanding of the role they are playing, sound believable and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture each character’s emotions and projects them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fabulous listen!

Another wonderful installment to the series!

Loved this one almost as much as the first one. These characters have pasts. They have demons. They are real and that's what I love about them. Both Adam and Violet have experienced loss. They heal each other and their hearts grow stronger because of it. I love everything Gregory Salinas does. His range is off the charts and I adore his little kid voice. Erin is new to me, and a strong co-narrator with Gregory. Overall, this is another gem in the Single Dad trope and I can't wait for more to come to audio!

Hot nerd meets sweet ballerina!

Adam is a professor and single dad to adorable and precocious, Mira. Single Dad tropes really make my heart happy especially when there's a heart-rending backstory.
Violet is a mourning ballerina who lost the love of her life and moved back to Seattle to start fresh. She moves in with her brother, Mitchell and niece, and started her own dance studio.
Violet ends up being Mira's teacher and Adam definitely notices the gorgeous, Violet.
Let me just say the chemistry and sparks are instant!
Adam is one hot as hell nerdy professor who is definitely an alpha in the bedroom.
Gregory portrayed Adam perfectly as the sweet but dirty daddy!! Phew, I melted when she showed up at his office on campus!!
Erin was wonderful as Violet and captured her emotions.

I really loved the sibling relationship between Violet and Mitch. Whitley really weaves a beautiful story around the suffering and sadness in this book and makes it about something positive. The ending is really sweet and the epilogue was great!!

Charming and heartwarming

Violet and Adam's love story is one based on a mutual understanding of loss and a desire to rebuild and give love another chance in the future. Both Adam and Violet have suffered losses and experienced heartbreak, and their hearts are definitely bruised when they met. But they each help the other open up to the possibility of true love, especially with the most adorable little girl helping to play matchmaker along the way.

Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman both narrated their roles well. It was a thoroughly enjoyable listen that was heartwarming in the end.

The healing power of love

This was such a beautiful story of the healing power of love. The past happens, but it doesn't mean you can't have a future. Violet has just opened her own dance studio. She is using dance to distract her from the loss of her dance partner and husband who had passed away. Adam is a single father dealing with a divorce. He enrolls his daughter in Violet's dance class and sparks fly. They both have their baggage. They both are afraid to move on. But they both find comfort in each other. But others are in their eait. Violet's mom who is projecting her grief of her own husband on her daughter. The things she said and did made me want to scream at her, but at the same time I felt her pain. There is also someone stalking Violet with dangerous intent. Violet and Adam are fighting for their happiness, love, and even lives. These narrators did an amazing job as these characters. I felt every emotion they felt. A must read/listen for romance fans.

Contemporary Single Dad Romance

Dancing With The Single Dad by Whitley Cox is a contemporary single dad romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Erin Bateman and Gregory Salinas. This is the second book in The Single Dads Of Seattle series and can be read as a standalone.

The book comes with a note "This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you."

This is the second book of Whitley's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Adam and Violet. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Saved By The Single Dad to be released on audio so I can get Mitch and Paige's story.

Erin and Gregory did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like single dad romances or contemporary romances.

Violet and Adam!

Violet is still grieving from the loss of her dance partner who also happened to be the man she loved. Unable to bear dancing with another she decided to follow their dream of opening a studio so she has moved back to Seattle to be near her family.

Adam and his wife divorced as the emotional pain that he and his wife faced in their marriage tore them apart rather than bringing them together. His life is centered around his daughter Mira and her love of dance is evident, so he arranges for her to take classes at Violet’s studio.

From the moment they meet the sparks fly but Violet believes she is being disloyal to the man she loved. When they become dance partners for the Art in the Park fundraiser and need to spend time together to practice will they both realize that they are ready to move on with their lives or is the pain of their pasts too much to overcome?

This is a heartwarming story about love, loss and new beginnings with all the feels. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought out all of the romance and emotion of the story. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Stand alone story with 4.5 stars

Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman did a fantastic job. I always appreciate when narrators add more than just words to the story (laughing, clearing throats, tears, etc.).

Dancing with the Single Dad is a complete stand alone novel and the characters from Hired by the Single Dad play very, very minor parts. You could easily read them out of order. This book did answer one question I had after the first one though - Can you still be in the single dad club if you're not a single dad anymore? Listen to this one to find out.

I had a tough time rating the story itself because I really like what makes it unique compared to most contemporary romance. It's still true to the genre, but also has a little hint of suspense and takes on some sensitive and important topics. (Miscarriage plays a big part in the backstory and could be a trigger for some readers.) Because it was different, I debated rating it as a 5. However, there were times the story felt slow. There are some extended steamy scenes which I know are a plus for a lot of people, but I felt like they slowed the story down. The past relationships of both main characters featured prominently in the story and I would have preferred less focus on the past relationships. It wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was still good, so I also want to rate it a 4. I settled at 4.5 in the middle.

My Thoughts on Dancing with the Single Dad

I am really enjoying this series about single dads. This time single dad Adam meets and falls for his daughter’s dance teacher Violet. The two connect through a love of dance and their grief due to losses they’ve both suffered. But over the course of the story they begin to heal both each other and themselves. The story was a good mix of sweet, steamy, suspense and of course love. There was family drama, stalkers and exs. It was all really well written and made for a great listen.

The narrators did a great job. I enjoyed both of their performances, but Gregory Salinas in particular is growing on me more and more with each performance. He shows really good emotion and has an overall great tone. Erin Bateman is newer for me but I wouldn’t mind trying more by her in future.

Great characters

This was a sweet romance with a little bit of heat. The characters had quite a lot of past trauma to deal with in their current relationships. With a good story line and humour I really enjoyed it. A fantastic performance from both Erin and Gregory.

dancing into love.

Violet and Adam meet when his daughter signs up for dance at Vis studio. he is divorced and she lost her love and dance partner. As they find their way together people aren't happy.
she has a stalker, find out who, but nothing becomes of it.. her mom is against her dating anyone else. these two points didn't get closure imo. it felt like book was more about Vi and her grief over her dance partner.

Gregory was amazing, nails the voices, smooth, bright characters to life.
Erin is new to me. she did a good job. I was a bit disappointed in her male voice. she nailed the French accents beautifully.

Love this series

This is the second book in The Single Dads of Seattle series and it was so good. Adam takes his Daughter Mira to dance class and the minute he sees Violet the chemistry is there . I loved the ups and downs Violet felt being widowed when I was 40 I understood her feelings about dating again . It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling when she eventually knew she wanted Adam. Loved the narration from Gregory and Erin it made listening even better.
