Publisher's Summary

Fed up with cheating women, Dan Alexander, star pitcher for the New York Nighthawks, grew restless. Searching for something more than a bar babe, he zeroed in on a girl in the stands. He never expected to see a beautiful chick pushing frankfurters. But the hot dog girl looked as smokin' as the food she was selling. Holly Merrill found a place to hide in plain sight, as a vendor at Nighthawks' stadium. Keeping her secret safe and simply happy to stay alive, she never considered finding love an option. After all, a bad girl doesn't deserve a decent guy, does she? Coming off his best season ever, Dan went into the playoffs, hell bent on winning the pennant and playing in the World Series. But could he maintain his focus on the field, where everything was going right, when off the field everything was falling apart?

Would have liked a little more depth to the story

I want to start off be stating that I am not a sports person at all, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read this book. I was a little put off by all the guy, locker room type talk, and many of the characters, especially the males, were a bit stereo-typical. However, the story is good, well-written, and moves along at a good pace.

I wish the author would have gone a little more in depth regarding why the heroine was in hiding and the emotional impact of that.

The relationships between all the characters seemed very real and natural, with good dialogue. I liked the flirty but cautious tone of the book and the relationship between the hero/heroine.

I listened to the audio version of the book, and I feel I may have liked it a bit more if I’d been reading it myself. The narrator’s sports announcer voice was interesting at first but began to wear on me after a while.

I love this new series

Would you consider the audio edition of Dan Alexander, Pitcher to be better than the print version?

No, while I truly enjoyed the story, I did not care for the narrator. He just could not bring the book to life for me.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the characters. Ms. Joachim has a way of making them so realistic that I feel like they are my friends. It was easy to relate to the situations and understand why the characters acted as they did.

What three words best describe Jim Roberts’s performance?

monotone,

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, I hate to leave a book without finishing it. I have to know what happens.

Any additional comments?

Everyone is different, while I did not like the narrator others did. The story itself is amazing and this is going to be a great series.
