Publisher's summary

Ex-DEA agent Jason Anderson is trying to rebuild his life after being held prisoner by a sadistic drug cartel. With a little help from his friends, Logan Wright and Jared Monroe, he's starting a new business and moving forward. He only thinks about the past during the long, dark nights. It's then that he feels most alone.

Brinley Snow has moved into her dream home. It's everything she's wanted and more, although she faces a mountain of renovation work. Luckily, it came with the bonus of a sexier-than-sin neighbor. One sultry summer night, Brinley gathers up her courage and asks Jason to join her for dinner. They're instantly attracted to one another, but the evening quickly goes downhill when she ends up in the interrogation room of the local police.

An unknown dead man had her address clutched in his hand. The authorities - and Jason - think she's the key to finding a cold-blooded murderer. With a first date like that, Brinley's not sure she'll survive a second. Then again she's never met anyone like Jason. He's not the typical boy next door. He's all man. And with a little luck, he could become all hers. They just have to stay alive long enough to catch a killer.

Damsel

Story was great, the narrator not so much. I mean, he read it well, he just didn't use voices & I couldn't always tell who was speaking just from listening.

Nice story

The narrator had such a deep voice the woman's sounded the same as the mans. The story was good but would have liked 2 narrators in this case. Strong female lead was nice to see. No whining, nice strong story.

ok story good narration

I liked Brinley and Jason. I loved that Jason could sing...lol. I appreciated the fact that they didn't do stupid shit. They didn't have all that angst stuff either. I liked that Brinley put all her issues out there for Jason to see. While Jason had his own issues he laid them out even though he still had to deal with them. The suspense part was good. I did feel as if I missed something. The other two guys on Jason's team had stories and the way they and their families were mentioned made me feel like this wasn't book 1 of the series.

Liked the story and would totally read West's story if it comes.

An interesting story heavy on the romance with a mystery and a fair bit of danger. A good story to spend a relaxing winter afternoon with. I enjoyed the characters and wondered about their stories to HEA, it added to the story.

Excellent!

This novel, written by Olivia Jaymes was an entertaining read. The characters are well rounded and the storyline held my interest throughout. Great choice and I am anxious to get the next book in the series.

Enjoyable

This book has enough twists that you find yourself second guessing 'who' on a regular basis. With a male lead who many females would like to spend some quality time with, and a female lead who doesn't play the typical 'annoying or useless' female, it was a great listen.

My in between book

While waiting for my next free credit, I got this, as it looked interesting. It's a good book, but the narrator sounds like the dog from the movie Up!

Damsel in Danger

Damsel in Danger is the first book in the Danger Incorporated series by Olivia Jaymes. It is a great start to the series. She introduces a lot of characters and settings that are important not only in this book, but the rest of the series as well. It never feels like exposition though. That's not easy to do. The H and h are both likable and make you root for their HEA (which of course they get). No cliffhanger.

Narration by Lance Greenfield is well done for the most part. His deep voice lends itself very well for the male roles. He does seem to have some difficulty portraying the female but not enough to make it disruptive to the story. He did sound as though he may have had a cold at times. This is the first book I have heard him narrate.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

This book had my interest at the first page and keep listening. Romance, suspense, action, adventure and love. Hot heroes, smart heroines and a story that will keep your attention.
