NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY BESTSELLERA New Adult Romance Novel by New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author H.M. Ward

Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It's never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn't even the right word.

Peter is the personification of perfection. It's like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let's face it--any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life.

Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door. Sidney takes the walk of shame and leaves. It's the end of the worst blind date ever. Her life couldn't possibly reach higher levels of suckage, but it does.

The next morning everything comes crashing down. The insanely hot guy from last night, the one that saw her half naked, is teaching at the front of the class room.

Love me some Peter Ferro

All the Ferro's are hot! Damaged was the first HM Ward book that I've read and I always go back to this series!

Surprised

I was pleasantly surprised. Took a little getting used to, such a different way to tell a story. The narrator will get better with time. I am looking forward to the next book.

Damaged

H.M.Ward starts this book with Sidney walking into a bar promising her friend she would show up on a blind double date. As Sidney scans the bar, the only person who appears to be alone was a really good looking man. Sidney approaches him and makes small talk with him (Peter). Sidney finds he is funny and easy to get along with. He asks her name and she tells him just as her friend finds her and tells her that the guys are waiting for them. When Sidney asks the man "you aren't my date this evening." He stated, "No, I thought you were picking me up." He stated it was working he would have bought her dinner.

As the book continues, Sidney, a student at the college and Peter a teacher at the same college, become good friends. One evening after a Swing dance meeting they went to dinner. The head of the English department sat down with them for dinner. She stated they need to end their relationship.

Whether they had a relationship or not effects the tone throughout the book. The book also deals with a sexual assault victim and her attempts to recover.

This book needs to be read before reading Damaged 2. This book is a cliff hanger.

Just Ok

This isn't a book that will stick out for me. The storyline was ok, nothing to keep me on the edge of my seat but not so annoying I was forwarding the story to get through it. What I liked was the dialog between Sidney and Peter. I love when characters are strong minded and these 2 kept me laughing. The narrator was a decent choice also. I could probably recommend buying this when it's on a good sale if you are dying to listen.

Fave book by fave author with fave narrator!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to anyone and everyone who loves a good love story. I've read the book over and over (and over) again and listening to the audiobook just brought it to life even more! I know the story by heart, yet listening to the audiobook still got me all shivery!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Damaged, Volume 1?

There are so many memorable moments in Damaged, Volume 1 but the ones that stand out the most for me are the ones that involve dancing and the banter that ensues.

Which character – as performed by Kitty Bang – was your favorite?

Peter and Sidney are my favorite fictional couple and Kitty Bang is my favorite narrator so it's a perfect match... like magic!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Every time Peter and Sidney get close but not quite enough, oh and what I love to call "the forehead thing", Peter's trademark move... it's anticipation at it's best! Shivers and increased heart rate guaranteed!

dnf

I stopped when the female character disclosed her damaged soul and then the male character said "well, I might as well tell you I'm damaged, too and I don't think I'll be undamaged anytime soon but we can still have sex." Just ridiculous. I couldn't continue.
