An existential odyssey through space, time, and a young woman’s mind.

I wrote this adventure in an effort to save the universe. Is my ego truly that monolithic? Maybe, but it wasn’t my idea to write a book to save the universe. This was an assignment from a Bob I know that may be God. Bob made me do this. The only choice I had in the matter was what to write about. I chose to tell you about the woman I love and how we saved the universe together the first time around. Of course, this means telling you about all the times we saved the universe in between the day we met and the end of this book, until this book ends, at which point we will have saved the universe again, if everything goes according to plan, which it rarely does.

Anyway, if you enjoy a little chaos, a little time inside the squishy maze we call the human brain, a little taste of emotionally compromised writing, a little desperate love from a desperate man, you might want to listen to this exercise in confusion. I can’t promise you’ll enjoy my musings or rants or punchlines, but I can promise you this: Life is a run-on sentence.

Narrator Ron Gabaldon delivers an outstanding performance, bringing each character to life with energy and precision. His smooth pacing and natural flow keep the story moving seamlessly, while his ability to capture the narrative’s rhythm and emotion adds richness and authenticity.

If you crave wit, emotion, and a dash of existential confusion, this wild odyssey delivers it all. Additionally, Memphis and Gabaldon create an experience that’s both fun and immersive from start to finish.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

Two For Two

After reading this author’s other book, “Littlethumb Sneezed,” I wanted more. “Daffodil” did not disappoint. You cannot predict where this story will take you, but you will glad you got there. This story is unique and filled with unusual characters. Looking forward to more from this author.

Mind Blown

Wow, I didn’t know what to expect but this was definitely more than I anticipated. I really tried to fallow the who and the where but with more than one group to fallow I was lost. The story did have some really interesting parts, some really funny and others I had no clue. The narrator did a great job and I really can’t wait to hear what he does next. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who has a thing for intelligent interaction between people not in the same world as we.

This is a review. The review is for a book. The book was turned into audio, and I listened to it. Listening to this book reminded me of a movie. The movie was named Memento. The audience watches the movie in bits and pieces in reverse chronology because the main character has memory loss. After watching the movie the audience has to reconstruct the movie into the proper order. This book might have a proper order. Or it might have been written by writing a bunch of characters and situations and imaginary locations and a god named Bob onto a deck of cards, then shuffling them and drawing random ones to determine the content for each chapter. Except chapter 27. That one made perfect sense. The story might incorporate aspects of religious beliefs, and disbeliefs, but also abuse, and magic, and hope, and more. After typing this review I printed it and ate it with a sprinkling of million-year-old sea salt. It was delicious. If the format of this review hasn't made you cringe, or if you like to cringe, then listening to Daffodil might be your thing. Ron Gabaldon does a fine job of pushing air through his lips so they form words. I take no responsibility for the condition of your brain after listening to this book. W*E*I*R*D

N.B. I received a free copy of this book via freeaudiobookcodes.com. The biggest thing I can say about this book is that it is weird. Is it good weird? Is it bad weird? I'm not even sure. It's strange weird. It was an alright read. Nothing stood out as particularly bad (but nothing stood out as particularly good either, except for the the jokes about chapter 27? and Louisville...). Honestly, I think that's the selling point on this one. If you're looking for something strange and weird, this is what you should go for. If you're looking for something more on the sensical than the non-sensical...go for something else.
