Story
Hydroponics is a popular method of growing plants without soil. The plants are suspended in nutrient-rich water, and this way, you can have great success in growing your produce. Hydroponic gardens require less water than their traditionally grown counterparts due to the fact that they will not be wasting or losing water. Rather than wasting time and money on nutrient-rich soil, you can, instead, provide those nutrients through the water you feed your plants.

Story
Although modern aquaponics is still fairly new, it was used in ancient times. Some of the first examples are thought to be islands where plants raised with water and other materials from the Chinampa canals. The islands, known as Chinampas, were mainly stationary, but some were movable. Also, rice was raised in Thailand and China in paddies, which also contained fish. Other Far Eastern countries also raised fish - swamp eels, regular and crucian carp, and Oriental loach - in rice paddies.

I already knew a lot of the material outlined in this audiobook so I was not expecting to gain too much additional knowledge. However, to my surprise, I realized that this audiobook had many new ideas that I had new thought of. I would definitely recommend this audiobook to anyone who is wanting to get started with growing vegetables to be self sufficient.

Great audiobook
Science and techniques behind hydroponics. Also gives details of different hydroponics systems and suggestions about building your own. This audiobook has very detailed explanations about all things hydroponics. If you are looking for 1 audiobook that will provide you enough guidance to get started, this would be it. However, keep in mind it starts with the history and science of hydroponics which I did not expect from the name. I expected this to be a 'hands-on', let's 'get building' sort of a audiobook . Personally, I was looking for a book to help me build an elaborate system without giving be the extra fluff. The name is somewhat misleading, Apart from the fact that I was looking for a get-on-with-business kind of diy, which this is not, it is a very good audiobook for beginners.

Fruits and vegetables can be pricey, especially if they’re out of season. And, of course, they can be even more expensive if you choose to go organic. You could always plant your own garden, but, maybe, you don’t have enough space outside or, maybe, you live in a colder climate. Unfortunately, not everyone lives where they can plant an outdoor garden. The alternative is to set up an indoor hydroponic system.

Story
Fruits and vegetables can be pricey, especially if they’re out of season. And, of course, they can be even more expensive if you choose to go organic. You could always plant your own garden, but, maybe, you don’t have enough space outside or, maybe, you live in a colder climate. Unfortunately, not everyone lives where they can plant an outdoor garden. The alternative is to set up an indoor hydroponic system.

Story
Gone are the days when farming had to be an elaborate, space-occupying and labor- or machine-intensive activity. These days, you can set up a fully self-sustaining garden or farm that has both animals and plants in one place, with all the components relying on each other in some way. If you are wondering how that is even possible, welcome to aquaponics - a form of farming which combines aquaculture (the raising of fish and other aquatic animals) with hydroponics (the growing of plants without soil) in one system that has unparalleled levels of efficiency.
