Kiss the blade

The Commander is a seventeen year old behind-the-military-lines British agent working mostly in Afghanistan and following in his father's footsteps. His forte is unarmed combat using only wits and blades (and tigers). In some ways he reminds me of Flashman in his perfection in everything (but not the lechery). There are lots of bodies/casualties on the enemy side as well as the British and American forces. Very enjoyable.
Graham Mack brought this story to life, he has a dynamic voice and his accents are spot on.

Ugh

The performance was pretty good.

The whole story though, I kept thinking about the Commander "this is the definition of a Mary Sue." Anything he tries he's the best ever at. Any hardship he faces is a minor inconvenience. Except the one dimensional foes, everyone loves him and looks up to him, and is jealous of anyone else he spends time with.

The story was a fair attempt, however since you knew the main character was going to waltz through the most difficult of tasks it was hard to get emotionally invested.

GOOD READ!

I enjoyed it! This book was full of action, drama and suspense! The narration was good and kept me entertained! The author did a good job with the character builds and plot! This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last! I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
