This bossy hockey star just met his curvy match.

Laney: Weston Davies, bad boy of the NHL, was my dad's hero. He's a beast on the ice . . . and off. He's also rude, arrogant, and way too hot.

I came to the game to thank him for making my dad's last year so happy. I'm leaving as the winner of a Valentine's Day date with him.

Why do I get the feeling he's behind my random selection? And why am I thinking about actually following through? This has bad idea written all over it.

Weston: Nothing gets me as heated as a bad call on the ice—until I save Laney Briggs from a wayward puck. She's got the brightest eyes and the cutest annoyed face I've ever seen. I probably shouldn't have offered to sign her chest. I really shouldn't have scammed my way into a date with her. But there's something about her that drives me wild.

She thinks I'm an arrogant jerk. I think she was made to be mine. Now I just have to convince her that I'm worth the hassle.

Contains mature themes.

The narrators were great.

This is a VERY fast-paced story with a lot of lust, love, and heat.

One of the things that put me off was the age gap... Weston is 33 and apparently Laney is 19? If she was 21 and he was 35, it wouldn't have itched at me at all. But when the younger person isn't even old enough to legally drink... I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with loving your person, but I think if she'd been 21 or if he'd been 29 to her 19, either of those things would have improved the story for me.

Weston falls in lust/love with Laney the first time he sees her. Apparently she's a "curvy" girl, and inexperienced (if you catch my meaning). The entire story, sans epilogues, takes place over 3 days. So to say it's fast-paced is the understatement of the year.

But, it was well-written - if there were errors about hockey (from reviews I read) those have been edited and corrected.

What I liked was that Wes was in from the first second. Also, Laney knew of him through her father, and had crushed on him for a long time. So their meeting, falling in love, and making a life together in such a short span of time was forgivable (haha).

Would've been better if the constant blasphemy wasn't used. I can deal with some profanity but the continuous use of GD, JC, J... nope. It's disrespectful and it doesn't make MC "badass". It seems to be more commonplace by author's now, and since 50 Shades came out it's ruined romance, more of the stories are more sex than story.

Insta love, quick listen
