Publisher's summary

One day you held my hand. One day you loved me. Then you were gone. At sixteen, I lost the only love I'd ever known. Thrown back into the foster system, pregnant and alone, I prayed that you'd come for me and save me from life's cruelties. Only the next time I saw you, it was too late.

Doing what I needed to do to provide for my son, we were finally brought face to face. It should have been the best day of my life, but it was far from it. It was the worst. That day a monster took me and held me captive. I begged for my life. I prayed for my son. I dreamt of you, the memories keeping me alive. You finally came for me. You were my heart. My salvation. But sometimes the heart is too damaged, too broken, to be saved. And sometimes monsters have a way of coming back to haunt me.

Prepare for a gut wrenching, heart ripping story

I could not stop listening to this book. The beginning was a little confusing as one chapter brought one character to the present and the next went back to bring the second character to the present. Once they were both in the present, the suspense and gut wrenching scenes never stopped. Just when I thought I could breathe, another twist made me catch my breath.

Gunner and Charlie are two star struck lovers. But Romeo and Juliet, they are not. I dreamt right along with Charlie for her and Gunner to get together, and I wanted to scream when she could no longer handle the pain. Their romance is meant to be, but it is not an easy road to get there. Gunner proves that not all motorcycle brotherhood are bad. Charlie shows how deep a mother's love is.

Crystal Boudet is an amazing narrator. She brought each character to life. Ms Boudet was easy to listen to and she separated each character nicely. She narrated each emotion, thought or suspenseful scene with such animation that the story became a movie in my mind. I would love to hear more narration from her.

good book, good narrator.

I struggled with the beginning of this book. the way it was written almost came across like someone was reading an outline. it was very cut and dry, very stiff. in all honesty, all flashbacks came across like this, even part of the epilogue. but once we got past that part, the book was really good. the history between our characters, the way their paths cross again, how they have to fight to be together, how he has to fight a war to get her and keep her. Not only that, once the war is started, the truths that are unveiled are crazy. especially how everyone is linked together, but also who double crossed them .

I'm not gonna lie. I'm so surprised in how quickly mouse adjusted and healed mentally and emotionally from what she went through. it may have been hot, and Gunner may know how to please a woman, but her mind sure did heal from what he did super quickly.

the writing style, at times was rough, stiff almost. but , like I said, one you get past that, it really is a good, well written MC book. the storyline was good, characters were great, and the love that grew between the characters was nice to read. I'm still a little confused about Skye and the epilogue... but whatever.

Very, very dark!

This audiobook disturbed me in that it had a lot of rape and abusive situations in it. If anyone is sensitive to that it could be a huge trigger. The hero and heroine meet when they are children and become involved as teenagers. He has a troubled family life, while she is an unwanted foster child. After they have sex for the first time he disappears and then she finds out she's pregnant. Sent away, she's gone without a trace when he comes back for her. Years later their paths cross again when neither expect it, yet an evil man gets in the way and she's gone again, leaving her son behind. The story of her survival and his rescue of her is the main story. Like I said this is really dark and gritty, so be forewarned. Narration was very well done.

Wow!

What a great ride. It was rough and some of it was really hard to listen too but I'm so glad I did!! The narrator killed it. Such a great job! And the story was intense but intriguing and beautiful.

~~~Not for the faint of heart~~~
5 jaw wide open stars!!! This one blew me away. It's a new writer and narrator for me, and both fit together expertly!
I hope we hear more about this MC.
Incredible story of love, loss , and determination of the heart.
It is very explicit in parts and kind of gory and graphic! If you are looking for a feel good biker love story ..this is not it!!
I listened start to finish without stopping !!! Worth a credit? Hell yes or coin, it's that good!!
