I genuinely loved this story.

I am genuinely enjoying this series. I love how they are touching on heavy topics while giving larger bodied girls and women a main character we can relate to.

Moving

Loved this story and it was very moving. I especially loved the author note. Touching. I too can relate to this book.

The title caught my eye.

I don’t even know how I found this book but I am glad I did. I just finished a seriously heavy fantasy book and needed something a little lighter to listen to.

Now though I enjoyed this book and felt a lot of the same things Rory felt being as I too was a curvy girl in high school. This book does hit close to home and brings up emotions I didn’t think still bothered me but they do.

The mother in this book wasn’t my favorite she was very all about health of the body but not of the mind and as she is a health teacher I thought she would have had a mind to that.
The brother was amazing I loved him!

Overall I enjoyed the book and wish there were more in the series on Audible I would snag them right up. As it is I have book 2 read to go.

I also very much liked the narrator.

Just what I needed right now

SO GOOD! I was diagnosed with PCOS at 13 and went through a lot of what Rory did. It’s so tough and it’s amazing to have a character that represents that in a book I’m reading. The story was cute and just made me feel good by the end.

reminds me of my high school days

I remember being like Rory crushing on the most amazing guy in school. Feeling like everyone was judeing me because of my weight. starving myself to loss a few pounds, skipping meals, drinking cranberry juice as meal replacements, feeling like no one would ever love me for me because I was over weight. being teased by the guys on the football team (jokes and whatnot). until I found my "Beckett" at twenty five. this book had me crying and remembering my seventeen year old self but it also made me smile. thank you for writing a wonderful book. showing all us "Curvy girls" that we can do anything that the Merritts of the world can do only we don't have to try as hard.

This book hit close to home

Wow. Wow and wow.
I read this and my heart broke for Rory and for myself and for my daughter who unfortunately probably saw a lot of Rory’s life as her own. I know this wasn’t the intention of the book but I sit hours after listening to this book crushed that she felt that way. The trauma of growing up fat is devastating. Every girl and mothers of girls should listening to this book. It may have been a story but it was also an awakening. Thank you Kelsie.
