Publisher's Summary

Curvy girls deserve happily ever afters too.

I’m a big girl, “plus-sized”, whatever. I’m sick of hearing about it, especially since my doctor diagnosed me with PCOS. So when mean girl Merritt shot her mouth off about how fat people should just lose weight, I couldn’t take it anymore.

And now I’ve got a huge problem. To prove curvy girls like me can get happily-ever-afters too, I have to get our school’s quarterback, Beckett Langley, to take me to homecoming. And he doesn’t know I even exist.

But it’s not hopeless. Four other girls just like me are willing to help, because enough is enough.

I will not lose this bet.

Curvy Girls Can’t Date Quarterbacks is the first book in the lively Curvy Girl Club YA contemporary romance series. If you like resilient teens, building confidence, and snark for days, then you’ll adore Kelsie Stelting’s sweet story. Get your copy today!

Good YA read but terrible narrator

I enjoyed this cute read but the narrator sucks the life out of this book.

Curvy Girls

The book was good but I think it concentrated on her weight to much. Still was a good read.

Did not appreciate

There was more “questionable “ content than I wanted to subject myself to - so I did not get past first few pages.

Curvy Girls Can't Date Quarterbacks

I don’t even know how I found this book but I am glad I did. I just finished a seriously heavy fantasy book and needed something a little lighter to listen to.

Now though I enjoyed this book and felt a lot of the same things Rory felt being as I too was a curvy girl in high school. This book does hit close to home and brings up emotions I didn’t think still bothered me but they do.

The mother in this book wasn’t my favorite she was very all about health of the body but not of the mind and as she is a health teacher I thought she would have had a mind to that.
The brother was amazing I loved him!

Overall I enjoyed the book and wish there were more in the series on Audible I would snag them right up. As it is I have book 2 read to go.

I also very much liked the narrator.

Real issues and a amazing read!

As a very curvy girl who also has PCOS and has never been loved like that from another potential love match this book hit so close to home and made feel like someone else gets it and that everyone deserves love! This was a fantastic read and evoked many emotions for me!

This book hit close to home

Wow. Wow and wow.
I read this and my heart broke for Rory and for myself and for my daughter who unfortunately probably saw a lot of Rory’s life as her own. I know this wasn’t the intention of the book but I sit hours after listening to this book crushed that she felt that way. The trauma of growing up fat is devastating. Every girl and mothers of girls should listening to this book. It may have been a story but it was also an awakening. Thank you Kelsie.

Hit a Nerve..

Buckle up my friends, it's going to be a wild ride ..
So let's begin with me during the book..
*MY EYEEESSSS* I rolled them so much I can't see straight anymore
ehm, now to the review,
The story is about Rory, who is fat and she feels like it's dictating her entire life specially with her "over bearing" mother who pushes her to eat healthy and take care of herself after she was diagnosed with PCOS, but she gets into a dare with one of the cheerleaders in her school, if she get to date the famous QB Beckett she will prove that fat girls can have a happily ever after too .. can she do it?

Now, as a former fat person who was diagnosed with Endometriosis ( which is basically PCOS times 4, literally ) I can honestly say this book is trying to push really rotten ideas.
first, the mother has every right to worry about her 16\17 years old daughter who didn't have her period for the past THREE MONTHS !! AND she was diagnosed with PCOS and that shit is serious and can cause all sorts of problem ( I spent 10 years of my life trying to sort it out and it wasn't easy ), I'm sorry, what did you want her mother to do ? clap her hands and laugh about it ? of course she will want to fix it, and as corny as it will sound, yes healthy eating and losing weight is a main factor to reverse any hormonal issue, including PCOS, so, I am team mom on this one and I wish my mom had this knowledge when I was treating my Endometriosis, it would've saved me 10 years of my life and 5 major operations one of them is hysterectomy.
Second, Rory was in a very bad place both physically and mentally yet she was expecting perfection from Beckett, she was so lost in her head that I can't be convinced that she liked him other than his "hot pants", and there was a scene where she literally tells him she was attracted to him because he has a nice body ..
So, dear Rory, it's ok for you to have a fat body and a serious condition ( which you fail to see how serious it is ) but he can't ? is that what you are trying to tell me ?
Third, those "friends" .. god, they were the worst part of the story, if you happen to stumble upon a this kind of people run away in the other direction because these people want you to stay put and never try to better your life, case on point, the moment Rory dated Beckett they left her because they felt intimidated by her, I think Rory could have more chemistry with a wall more than she had with those girls .. the author literally said there wasn't anything in common between them except they are all fat !!, imagine what will happen if one of them tried to better her life by losing weight ?
god damn this fat acceptance movement
I'm not saying you are worthless if you are fat, everybody should be treated with compassion and love no matter what size they wear .. but if you have excess fat cells in your body it can cause serious things to your body because it is not meant to carry this extra weight, and please guys don't give me that crap about ( I can't lose weight because of my hormones)
GIRL .. you can't lose weight because you are eating too much calories, read that again please
that doesn't mean you shouldn't eat .. look up the term Calorie Density and it will explain a lot for you
man I think this is one of the longest reviews I've done so fat because the book really touched a nerve in me .. because all my life people were trying to shame me or tell me I can't strive for better because "This is who I am"
well, I lost 30 KG ( 66 lbs), reversed my condition and I am in the best health of my life, while I am in menopause, so there is no excuse .. if you are lazy to do anything and just want some hot guy to love the way you are mistreating your body, please don't push this idea to other girls who can seriously get harmed by this
thank you

Predictable

It was a nice book, very predictable and the Rory was kind of annoying. The way she blames everything on her weight.

Sweet Happy Ending

This series has the makings of a super cute fun story with great main characters and supporting characters. Rory's story was sweet and heart breaking at the same time. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series!

So many things wrong

The main character just upsets me because in the end, everything was her fault. She got bullied and somehow she got suspended. Everyone just thought it was normal and it was her fault she got bullied in public. Her mom didn't stand up for her. Her so called friends got jealous of her boyfriend and didn't help her when she needed them the most. and that was her fault too for abandoning them when they chose to ignore her. MC had to apologize to everyone in order for her to be accepted. First I always wonder why in romance books curvy girls biggest problem why the guy don't want them it's because they're fat? Among all issues there could be on earth, it's the weight? I'm disappointed and I'm not sure if I want to read the other books in this series.

great storytelling, sensetive and real

loved this story.
as someone with PCOS since i was 17 and has never seen it in a story before i can say it was delt with responsibly.
it was also refreshing that the characters dont have a instant 180 in their behaviours when confronted.
off to down load thenext book 😀🤓

hits the feels

I hate and love that I felt this book so strongly, I hate that I can relate but I love that someone wrote a series about a main character that isn't stick thin and that she didn't end up changing herself for her man. the narration was amazing and the song at the end was beautiful and not gonna lie I might have cried because I'm just that kind of person.

Love this book

Omg this book made me cry at the sad parts but ended in the best way possible. The author Kelsie is right. It doesn’t matter if your tall or short (like me), skinny or overweight (like me) healthy or have medical issues(like me) we all belong in this world the way we are. We will find the right people to be friends with and fall in love with. We all have our own talents and make mistakes. We all have our perfections and imperfections we should all love one another and be friends with everyone and treat each other as equals but if there are people out there that bully you then just ignore them don’t put yourself down because of unworthy and cruel opinions from people that don’t matter because they don’t deserve your time and remind yourself of the supporters you have and you are better then the bully’s in how you treat people and will earn a persons trust and friendship faster then a bully. I hope you all enjoy this book like I did Love you all xoxo Emma
