  • "Fired Up Health" Rebecca Sits down with Mindset Coach, Rose Simmons
    Apr 8 2026

In this conversation, Rebecca connects with mindset coach and competitive physique athlete Rose Simmons to explore a truth many women quietly carry:

Most women don’t struggle with knowing what to do…
    they struggle with following through.

Because real transformation isn’t built on discipline alone.
    It’s built on vision.

Rose shares how lasting change begins when we bridge the gap between who we are today and who we deeply desire to become. When that bridge is clear, our daily actions begin to align naturally with the life and body we’re calling in.

This is where real change happens. Not in perfection… but in alignment.

    About Rose:

Rose Simmons is a mindset coach and competitive physique athlete who understands the frustration of doing everything “right” and still feeling stuck. After years of navigating weight struggles, all-or-nothing habits, and a relentless inner critic, she shifted her focus from chasing outcomes to understanding the patterns behind them.

Today, she helps women transform the way they think—so they can finally transform the way they live, move, and show up in their bodies.

  • "The Sober New Yorker" Rebecca sits down with Speaker & Sober Coach, Melissa McGovern
    Mar 25 2026

On this episode, Rebecca sits down with Melissa McGovern, founder of The Sober New Yorker, names herself as a “gray area drinker,” and that phrase alone carries weight. It speaks to the vast middle ground so many women live in. Not rock bottom, not reckless… but not quite aligned either. A slow drift rather than a crash.

Her experience traces a very specific arc. Personal loss enters the room. Menopause shifts the chemistry of body and mood. Then comes the long, disorienting stretch of the pandemic, where time blurs and boundaries soften. In that environment, the “F*ck It” button becomes less of a moment and more of a setting.

    A default.

And then something important happens. Not externally, but internally. The reflection in the mirror stops matching the inner sense of self. That disconnect can feel more alarming than any outward consequence. It’s not about how much she was drinking. It’s about what it was doing to her sense of identity.

That line she shares is the hinge of the whole story:
“I didn’t recognize the woman looking at me in the mirror.”

That’s not about alcohol alone. That’s about estrangement from self.

What’s compelling is that curiosity had already been whispering to her for years. Not urgency. Not crisis. Curiosity. A quieter, more intuitive signal. Almost like a hand on the shoulder saying, “There might be another way.”

And then, in a moment where the external pressures and internal misalignment finally intersect, that curiosity becomes permission.

    Maybe now was the time.

You won't want to miss this, take a listen.

  • Clean Play Coaching with Founder, Anne Shriba
    Mar 11 2026

On this episode of the Curious on Life podcast, Rebecca sits down with Anne Skriba, founder of Clean Play Coaching, for an honest conversation about identity, performance, and the quiet moments that lead us to rethink our relationship with alcohol.

For most of her life, Anne knew exactly who she was: athlete, competitor, coach, and leader.

Her days were structured around discipline, training, and helping others reach their potential. But when she stepped away from coaching, something unexpected happened. The titles disappeared. The routines shifted. And the clear sense of purpose she had built her life around no longer fit in the same way.

In that unfamiliar space, she began to notice that some of the coping strategies she had relied on—especially alcohol—were no longer serving her.

Today, through Clean Play Coaching, Anne helps high-performing individuals reexamine the role alcohol plays in their lives. Her message is direct and empowering.

You are not here because you “have a problem.” You are here because you want to be great, and you sense that alcohol might be getting in the way of your full potential.

  • "Shotgun with a Pastor: Grace, Calling, and Courage to Question" with Pastor Tina Schramme
    Feb 25 2026

In this episode of Curious on Life, I find myself riding shotgun in a church van, heading to a museum with my ninety-one-year-old mom and her Sunday school class and unexpectedly sharing a meaningful conversation with Tina Schramme.

Rev. Tina is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, a trained personal coach, and a lifelong student of human growth, holding degrees in Psychology, Human Development and Family Studies, and Divinity. Before answering the call to ministry, Tina worked closely with special-needs teens and adults, served in a mental health hospital, and led as Camp Director at Camp Grady Spruce.

What unfolds in our conversation is not a traditional pastor interview. It is a gentle, honest exploration of grace, higher purpose, and the often misunderstood women of the Bible, including Mary Magdalene. We talk about breaking glass ceilings, questioning long-held religious and social narratives, and what it means to follow a calling that once felt impossible for a woman to claim.

Rooted in authenticity, laughter, flexibility, family in all its forms, and what Tina lovingly calls “grace, grace, grace,” this episode is an invitation to rethink faith, leadership, and belonging and to remember that you are deeply loved exactly as you are.

  • "Carmel Retreats - California" Rebecca sits down with founder: Barry Shimelfarb
    Jan 14 2026

Barry Shimelfarb is the founder of Carmel Retreats and the devoted steward of Cuddle Doon, a storied cottage tucked along the Carmel coastline.

In 2019, Barry’s life was upended. As a single father raising twin boys, he was diagnosed with advanced cancer. Multiple surgeries and radiation left him weakened, unable to swallow, and facing a grim prognosis. During his long recovery, the family’s historic Carmel cottage became more than a home—it became a sanctuary. Planting lavender, walking the shoreline, and resting beneath ancient oak trees turned into daily rituals of hope and healing.

Surrounded by the love of his community and grounded by the quiet wisdom of the land, Barry not only endured—he healed. Two years later, his doctors declared him cancer-free.

Moved by gratitude, Barry chose to open the doors of Cuddle Doon to others. Today, the cottage welcomes guests navigating illness, grief, burnout, or major life transitions, as well as those simply longing for rest and renewal. Known as the “Lost Cottage of Carmel,” Cuddle Doon carries a rich legacy. Built in the early 1900s by Eliza Yocum—a pioneering educator and spiritual thinker—it was once a gathering place for artists, thinkers, and seekers.

Barry considers himself not the owner, but the steward of this sacred space, honoring its history while carrying its spirit forward. Through Carmel Retreats, he curates deeply personal, boutique experiences and leads initiatives like Postcards of Healing, offering gifted retreats during open calendar windows to those in need.

    As Barry beautifully puts it:
“My purpose is simple—to help others thrive. Healing isn’t just about medicine. It’s about place, community, and feeling truly cared for.”

    🌿 New Year Threshold

    “This isn’t about resolutions.
It’s about remembering who you are.
A New Year episode from Curious on Life is live. ✨”

This episode is a reflection on how one small choice changed everything—and how art, presence, and love continue to guide the way.

2025 was a year of transformation, curiosity, and expansion.
