Cupcakes, kite string, and one dead judge-can a brand-new baker solve the crime before her grand opening falls flat?
Fresh from a nightmare divorce, Tilly Griffin swaps Boston traffic for the gull cries of Belle Harbor, determined to serve Grandma Luna’s sea-salt-caramel cupcakes and flaky blueberry hand pies at her own shop, Luna’s Bakeshop. But the seaside dream curdles when a kite-festival judge is found strangled with string in the vacant storefront next door-and Tilly’s lovable, scatterbrained Uncle Jack lands on the suspect list.
Start the Belle Harbor Cozy Mysteries. This is Book 1 in a 15-book series, with Book 2 available now.
With tourism season days away and her bakery still under construction, Tilly teams up with two clue-sniffing cats, a charming coffee roaster who makes more than espresso, and an antique phone that will not stop ringing with trouble from the past. Every secret she uncovers stirs the batter of small-town gossip-and the killer is getting nervous.
If Tilly cannot untangle the mystery before opening day, her second chance-and Uncle Jack’s quirky antique shop-could go belly-up for good.
Cupcakes & Catastrophe is a clean, feel-good cozy culinary mystery with recipes included. Dig in for:
Small-town amateur sleuthing and mouth-watering treats
Zero gore, swearing, or cliff-hangers-just a satisfying whodunit
Two clue-sniffing cats who always land on the right hint (and the warmest windowsill)
Grab a latte, curl up, and start reading today-because in Belle Harbor, the only thing sweeter than dessert is justice.
Crime solved in wink of an eye. Most character sketches seem to be stereotypical.
I really dislike the virtual
voice. The inflections and nuance is at the level of a third grader. It takes away from the narration so the story sounds flat.
