Publisher's Summary

Read by Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk, the star of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe and Cunk on Britain.

Once in a blue moon, a book comes along that changes the world. The Origin of Species. War and Peace. 1984. The World According to Danny Dyer. And now, Cunk on Everything: The Encyclopedia Philomena, by Philomena Cunk.

Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest issue: why are there so many books?

Wouldn't it be better if there was just one? This is that book - an encyclopedia of ALL HUMAN KNOWLEDGE, from sausages to Henry of Eight to Brush Strokes to vegetarian sausages.

Listen to it, and you'll never have to read another book again.

Absolutely hilarious!

What a character! It's witty and funny and imo, even better than TV show. Thank you for the laugh, Philomena Cunk :D

Samey

I really enjoyed this to begin with but as it continued it became very samey... and I am only up to the letter D! Without the other people's input, like in TV show, Philomena's usually excellent character doesn't have anyone to bounce off and it all becomes a bit monotonous. I am sad to give a bad review as I loved the TV series. I am going to stop listening for a while and maybe if I pick it in a year or so it will be funny again!

Hilarious

Every single line has something perfectly daft about it. Brilliantly written and delivered only a way Diane can.

Hilarious

A must-listen! Fantastically written and read incredibly clearly, which is a relief as every gag is an absolute gem.

Funny, but perhaps better to read than as audio

Enjoyable audio, however the encyclopaedia format can get a bit repetitive when listening for large durations. I can imagine the book would work better if you want to put down and pick up at different points.

Hilarious and well worth a listen.

I loved this book and laughed my way through it all. Philomena does a marvellous job of narrating and I’d definitely recommend the book if you’d enjoy some humour in your life.

Everything you need to know you thought you knew

Not much to say really. Clearly a bestseller, even though it isn't. To compare the words in this book to Shakespeare would be blasphemous. But I will anyway, because he doesn't care, because he's dead.
It's the best thing since sliced bread. And probably the best thing since before sliced bread, but we don't know what happened before then, because that was the start of time.

This book is really good if you never finished school, or didn't go to school, or don't even know what a school is. All the education you need is in the pages of this book. Or if you're listening, the voice in your ears.

Philomena is an expert is several fields. Football fields, polo fields, tennis fields, rugby fields. The list goes on.

If you're still reading this review, why? Stop, download the book and listen to that instead. It's better and easier because your brain doesn't have to read.

Funny in parts

I love this woman but I must admit to being a tad bored when listening for any length of time but some genuine laugh out loud moments

not recommended for listening on public transport

Hilarious from start to finish There could only ever have been one narrator.Brilliant, just bloody brilliant! No one has ever made a tedious day of leaf blowing or mundane chores brighter. Although I'm sure my neighbours now think I'm quite mad. Fine one second and crying laughing the next.

Cunk knows it all!

Simply put, you either love Cunk, or you don't. And honestly, I absolutely love this clueless but somewhat intelligent character. She knows so much yet absolutely nothing, it's absolutely amazing.
