Fun and engaging .

It was a light, fun murder mystery. I loved Rex’s comments as the dog. I enjoyed the retired detective still using his skills and roaming the countryside looking for culinary treats since I love to eat too!

Great story and I enjoy the description of the countryside and history of the areas

I’ve loved every book in this series so far, but I think this is my favorite. The story is exciting with lots of twists and turns, but as always my favorite part is the relationship between Alfred and Rex. In the end, it is their devotion to each other that saves the day. Can’t wait to start the next one!

Wonderful

I LOVE these books. Albert Smith, the main character in this series is so identifiable and so smart. The star however is Rex,Albert’s dog. Their relationship is so heartwarming. It is so fun to hear parts of the story from Rex’s point of view. I can’t wait for the next book - and immediately started this one as soon as it was available. There are unexpected twists. The narrator is incredible and helps to make the stories both fun snd exciting. .
