Sad, disgusting and not an intelligible metaphor

A failed metaphor for South Africa. Utterly disgusting characters except the police investigator. The NYT suggested this was a metaphor for post apartheid South Africa. Really? The primary female characters were either ignorant, delusional or drunk. I finished it waiting for redemption or Godot. Got neither. Save yourself and read Nadine Gordimer.
