Publisher's summary

Way too young, 11-year-old Tucker Creed and his six-year-old neighbor, Sylvie Bissenette, find they have something awful in common. Creed then decides he's going to do everything in his limited power to shield his Sylvie from her ordeal. So he does, and Creed and Sylvie form a bond that grows and blossoms with their ages. They plot to leave their lives behind, the town they live in that will hold them down, and the histories they share that, unless they break free, will bury them. Sylvie goes to their special place; Creed never shows, and she doesn’t see him again until it’s too late. With Creed gone, Sylvie is forced to endure a nightmare and do the unspeakable to end it. To deal, she develops a hard shell with sharp edges through which very few can break. So when Creed again finds his Sylvie, he discovers the girl he loved is locked away, and he has to find his way back into her heart without getting shredded in the process.

Very good story. :)

4 stars

This was a very good story. I liked Sylvie and Creed, their past is painful but I'm so glad they finally ended up together after getting years stolen from them.

I really liked Sylvie. She had a tough life but made her way and still managed to be a good, kind woman....even with her being a bad ass. Sylvie grew up in a home with an abusive father and a drunk step-mother. She was 6 years old when she sneakily leaves the house to avoid hearing the fighting and ends up meeting Creed. He's 5 years older than her but he has a bad home life too and they become friends. She finally has someone that understands and will be there for her and that makes all the difference for Sylvie.

Through the years Sylvie & Creed grow up and there's a special connection between them. They finally become involved when she's 17 (although he wont go all the way physically until she's 18) and make plans to run away together when she turns 18. Unfortunately things don't work out as planned. Creed doesn't meet Sylvie when they're supposed to leave town and her life becomes hell.

Creed didn't want to disappoint Sylvie and loved her a lot. Sylvie was everything to him and Creed was a man of his word...even that young he was a good man. I can't say why he didn't show up for Sylvie but I will say it wasn't his choice and I felt so bad for him and Sylvie.

Fast forward 16 years and Creed and Sylvie meet back up. He has certain ideas of what her life was after their "split" years before that end up not to be true. She has no clue why he never showed and is very hurt (even after all these years although she tries to bury it). She's very resistant to talking to him but she's been brought in to work with him on a job. She's unwilling to look affected by Creed so she pretends it doesn't affect her and works with him. Fortunately this gives Creed an in and he's able to talk to her (eventually).

Once Sylvie & Creed start sharing what happened with their pasts, things get better between them. They work on re-establishing their relationship and bonding again. While all this is going on they're working the job and dealing with life. I really was happy to see them grow together again. What they lost and went through was so sad it is great to see them building happy times and a future. There are multiple issues to work out but once their back together Sylvie & Creed are solid and I loved seeing it.

This was a very good book. I really enjoyed it and was very happy for Sylvie & Creed. They deserved a happy ending. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up! :D

Creed and Sylvie

Much better done then the first. Terrible past for them but I'm glad they have a great future together. I really thought the old bastard got it too easy though. He messed up their life then he just up and keel over. But all and all, wonderful plot. Glad Knight got some face time here too. Recommend it to all KA fans.

Second best in the series.

I loved the whole Dream Man series each had its pros and cons (except for Knight, that boom was purely awesome) but none of them made me emotional. So many times my eyes filled with tears. Such a great book, my favorite aspect? The relationship between sylvie and Knights team.

awe inspiring

Sylvie and Creed will steal your heart. The trials they both endured as children as well as young adults will bring tears to your eyes. Kristen Ashley will take your away in this story. Mackenzie Cartwright brought these characters to life.

Good Sophomore Book

For a second in a series the book is pretty good. I really enjoyed Book 1 (Knight) and thought I would follow the series through. Not much excitement in this one but the love story was great. I’m following with Book 4 to see if the series still stands in excitement and steaminess. The summary to 3 doesn’t seem very exciting. But the author does a great job in keeping the books as stand alones. I would recommend the book!

Second chance romance but KA style!!

When I read the author's note that Kristen Ashley put at the beginning of Creed, I knew that Sylvie and Creed's story was going to standout compared to the other books I have read by her...

And I wasn't wrong. I don't think I would call Creed an Unfinished Hero, more of a man who made a choice. It might not have been the choice others would have chosen but it was a choice he has had to live with for the past 16 years.

The way the story went back and forth between the past and the present amped up the love story of Sylvie and Creed. There were parts of this book that just completely ripped my heart out and Sylvie's dad. If I could just get my hands on him for five minutes!!

We all know and love KA's alpha males but seeing a woman written in the same sense with the same kind of emotions (sort of) was fascinating. There were times when Creed was just wanting her to open up and he wasn't having it and that was just the icing on the cake.

Mackenzie Cartwright did fabulously with the narration as usual. No complaints there. My only real complaint with Ashley's audiobooks is I would like to see more male and female narration. It just adds a little extra to the story.

Raid is up next, and I have been hearing some things about him...
