Dallas and Ginnifer

The pace of this story was very slow and, unfortunately, lost my attention early on. I may listen again at a later date and, if needed, update this review. Anne Valliere did a good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

🏕️ Dallas Novak learned responsibility early on. When his parents were killed in a car accident, as the eldest son, Dallas takes on the very real life of taking care of the family ranch and his younger siblings. When the listener is introduced to this family, Emma (22) – Dallas' only sister – is proposing a business plan including a cowboy style dude ranch with yoga!!!

Emma arranges for a high end travel writer, Ginnifer Zeiss, to visit 2 weeks in hopes of great publicity with Ginnifer's glowing review.

G. arrives and is greeted by Dallas. They instantly clash as Dallas makes suggestive comments -feminists would call it sexual harassment – the rest of us see it at sexy talk. G. IS attracted but is there to write a review.

That is just a taste of all that is going on, while Ginnifer and Dallas are the main characters to follow, there are 3 or more other situations/circumstances of others couples. I presume they will be the focus of the rest of the Novak series.

I found the beginning a bit 'off putting' but once I began to understand Dallas' character I focused on the story. There was love, anger, humor, etc. intertwined with the story, I enjoyed it… EXCEPT for the talk of snakes – NOT NECESSARY! *Not a snake lover*

Anne Valliere's performance… [This is tough] I think that it was a bit better-than-average. Her cadence seem to be off and I thought most of the male characters sounded the same. Hopefully, the author will find a better fit for the remainder of the series or the narrator will become more comfortable/understanding of the material.

Credit worthy? I think so. The story is clever, entertaining and passionate. While I didn't find the narrator fantastic in my opinion, others may disagree. 🏕️

What a fun read that will have you laughing

I really liked this story from the sassy women to the hot cowboys who is over confident. Oh the attraction is there big time until he opens his mouth and sticks foot in it. I had to laugh at how over powering he came across and just how this cowboy was put in his place at least for a few minutes. Dallas knows what he knows and yes she will be his for as long as he wants her. Ginnifer said nice, hot, what a body that is until he makes moves on her in an ungentlemanly way and then she said take a hike. This was a very cute and fun read that has the reader shaking their head at the twist these two put on what they want and how they plan on working that out. It is one step forward with two steps back what a nice two step these two have going on.


I really liked Ms. Valliere narration that is after the first few pages she just doesn’t seem comfortable at first but then she really gets into it and brings the characters to life. I loved the emotion she brings to the characters I found myself giving Dallas the evil eye a time or two. For the most part I just said hum let’s see how that works out for you big boy. Yep that is the way I thought it would. I had to laugh shaking my head at him. I did not hear any background noise just a clear, clean and crisp audio that the reader really gets into. There were no places where the volume was higher or lower than any of the other places. If breaks were taken you could not tell. The narrator really pulled off some highly emotional scenes giving them such power and meaning. I really enjoyed her character voices you always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the near future.


The author really pulls her reader in with the baiting and head butting of these characters. I really fell in love with them all and can’t wait to listen/read more of this series. The author really has setup the stories for the next few books in this series. You will really be hook on their stories and can’t wait to read them as they come out. Dallas is a hot cocky cowboy who knows how to get to a woman and also how to make them back away. He sure isn’t letting that get in his way, the longer the hunt the sweet the prize. He is very much against this Yoga ranch but does his best to help and stay out of their way. With one sassy sister who knows how to get around her brother to get her way he finds his self knee deep in a mess of women. When things start looking up for this couple something else gets in their way leaving them torn and us guessing at the outcome.


Ginnifer may think he is hot but he has a thing or two to learn about his one liners they just do not work on her. She hates the cute nickname he gives her you are in for a treat to her come back. This is one author that had me laughing out loud as these two chase each other around the ranch either trying to find the other or trying to get away. My heart really went out to her and her need for coffee the author had me wanting to shake the silly cowboy. I loved how caring she was as well as how strong and sassy, she is willing to stand up for herself giving back as good as she gets.


I really enjoyed the supporting characters and the build up for the stories to come. Each one had me shaking my head and laughing out loud at the messes these couples get into. Out of all the characters Dallas’s sister and her ex really touched my heart the most. I can’t wait to read their story. This is a book full of misunderstandings, over cockiness, pain, hurt, needs, wants, demands, passion, lust, and good old down home fun. The author gives you action in more than one way that really is very entertaining. You will find yourself laughing you won’t be able to help yourself as well as giving the evil eye a time or two. I really got invested in the characters and the story which really made this a hard audio to put down. If you looking for a pick me up, need a laugh or just want to have a few minutes to yourself this would be a great story to listen to.

Fun story with some drama

When Ginnifer accepts an invitation the last thing she expects is to fall in love but it happens. This is a fun love story with some drama along the way to keep it interesting. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Nice Love Story

The story started out slow but progressed. The narrator made all of the voices sound the same and made the story move along. I found it confusing that in one chapter Dallas and Wes brothers to the only sisters wanted her Cowboy yoga to succeed then in the next chapter refused to help then in the next chapter helped. The concept of the story was good. Immediate attraction yet running from the feelings because they both pain all men or all women with the same brush. This does not fit well with me but the story took it to a different level. In the end, all was well and I can imagine what the next two books will be about. No cliffhanger either.

Good story

Dawn writes good stories. This was no different. For my tastes, it was a little slow. I do enjoy a good cowboy story. Anne did a good job narrating. I requested this free audiobook and am giving an honest review.

Sweet, fun, sexy, and Romantic!

This is the first book in the Novak Springs Series. I love Dawn Brower's writing. Ginnifer and Dallas's story is fun, sexy, and romantic. I loved it! Anne Valliere did a good job with the narration. hot for cowboys

This is the first in the Novak Spring series and I really enjoyed this romance read / listen. Good story line, great characters and I loved the chemistry. This book focus' on Dallas who was once burned by love and is no rush to have a repeat on love going up in smoke. What he didn't expect was for love to find him regardless and both his hopeful future and his dismal past loves will collide. I am hopeful that the future books in this series will be about the siblings (but I guess we'll just have to wait and see). While I did enjoy this read / listen it did seem that some parts came across repetitive and the narration was not as good as it could have been (just my opinion) - even with this I still thought it was a really, really good read and I'm looking forward to listening to more! This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

The Troupe of Neither Person Wanting A Relationship, But Oops!

I enjoy Dawn Brower’s books, probably the historic a bit more, but always entertaining, well written and interesting characters. I didn’t rate this book more than 3 stars mostly because I just couldn’t get attached and sympathetic to the Dallas and Ginnifer...in reality these two are a perfect match, so I rather like that. The usual fighting what they think they want and what they actually want..a possible misunderstanding, but they are both mature enough not to let that be unresolved. The narrator did a good job, good voices, emotion, timing..kept the story rolling along. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The cowboy & his travel writer

Ginnifer is a travel writer and has been invited to spend 2wks on a ranch outside of Seattle...the program to review...cowgirl yoga’. Dallas is the oldest of 3 siblings who run the Novak Springs ranch. His kid sister, Emma, is back home after college and wants to start a program called cowgirl yoga. Dallas agrees and when he meets Ginnifer, is in insta-lust. At first, Ginnifer rebuffs Dallas’ advances, but eventually the pair get involved. There are a few sub-plots that lead you to believe that life for the other 2 Novak siblings will ne anything but quiet. Some hilarious moments such as when Ginnifer goes to morning yoga and encounters the super perky instructor! There Is some ex drama but we do get an HEA. Overall a great book with equally great narration.

Great chemistry and engaging story

I was excited to listen to this book as it is a different genre to what I usually read, but the concept of love on the ranch really grabbed my attention. As it is also the first book in the series I was eager to begin . The whole book is so well written with lots of character development . The chemistry between the main characters Dallas and Ginny is explosive and overall the whole story is engaging and kept me interested. I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review
