Publisher's summary

Single mom and Revival Ranch's on-site therapist Monica Finley has dedicated her life to helping brave servicemen and women, but former Navy SEAL Gabe Cortez is the one man whose shell she just can't crack. Yet with the holidays fast approaching, she may finally have a plan. In a bid to get Gabe to open up, she'll ask for as much help as possible - cutting down the Christmas tree, stringing lights, the whole nine yards. Who could possibly be a Grinch with so much holiday cheer in the air?

Gabe has always hated Christmas - the holiday never fails to remind him just how alone he truly is. But the more time he spends with Monica and her young son, the more he finds himself drawn to their cozy little family...and the more he begins to realize his long-suppressed Christmas dreams may finally be coming true.

Contains mature themes.

I liked the plot but the introspection dragged on

The narration was good in this heartwarming Christmas story about a ranch where military men and women could go to heal their PTSD. A group of Navy Seals are the founders of the ranch and they are able to find a new life and romance in Montana. This is the story of Gabe, who is the last of the 4 Seals to settle and he is increasingly attracted to Melanie who is the councilor for folks with issues following deployment. Gabe is not her patient but he is still reluctant to get involved with a military widow with a young son. He feels that he is too messed up from his childhood to be a candidate for love and marriage. The story is full of good characters and fun farm animals on the ranch, with a warm holiday feel to it all. The narrative is good, with a sultry voice but some of her female characters sound like children. My main issue with the book is that there is so much introspection and internal debate that it bogs down the last half of the book. I really debated just leaving it early but it did come to a good end.

the story tellers different tones for each character

I liked how well the trilogies intertwines with timelines and the characters personalities and the slight comedy of the protagonist.
