Publisher's summary

Krista shows up at Nirvana, not for vacation, but because she wants a divorce. Yet when she sees her husband for the first time in years, the last thing she can think about is dissolution papers and freedom. She wants to saddle her cowboy and take a ride down memory lane with her stud.

Dodge has no intention of signing those papers - at least not at the moment. Krista is as hot as a pot of oil over an open fire and he plans to show her that he has the endurance and the amazing moves as a cowboy as he had when he was a pro football player. No surprise, his wife has a thing for role playing and he's more than happy to make his bedroom into their stage.

When a bombshell guest wants to sink her claws into Dodge's back, Krista makes it clear, "Cowboy is mine"...at least temporarily. She's jealous. Dodge'll take what he can get. He has something up his sleeve that will create a twist in their relationship and put his NFL moves to shame.

Quick cowboy romance

Where does Cowboy Is Mine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say somewhere in the middle.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was sweet, and it slipped in a surprise but it wasn't really built up, just kinda sprung on you. It was a good surprise though.

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed their angry back and forth in the beginning that led to a frisky scene.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It isn't very long but it isn't too short either, it was a good listen for while I was out and about running errands or just doing things around the house.

Any additional comments?

While it is pretty fast paced in the romance areas, and the story seems to fly by, it was a good listen and wasn't very time consuming. I was vested in the story, though it felt like it could have been easily exapanded with more details and plot points to make it longer, but I appreciate the lack of angsty themes that can often clutter stories too. Alan Corliss did a great job with narration and he was a believable cowboy, I will listen to him in the future but would like to see how he does with a duel narration also. I received this audiobook for free from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.

Cute

Any additional comments?

This was a cute short romance. The story line was cute and I was happy Krista was willing to give Dodge a second chance.. The narrator was a bit awkward for me he did a great job with the reading but I am not sure this was the best book for him.

Quick and cute read!

If you could sum up Cowboy Is Mine in three words, what would they be?

Sexy, satisfying, and sweet!

Would you be willing to try another book from Rhonda Lee Carver? Why or why not?

I would definitely read another book from Rhonda Lee Carver. She's a new to me author, but I can see myself reading more of this series. I enjoyed the story. The plot was interesting and entertaining.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Unfortunately, he was not the proper narrator for this book. The pace and inflections were off. I had to speed up the narration up to 1.5x. Also, his attempt at female voices was a bit distracting.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. I totally loved the moment these two decided to give their marriage a real shot.

Any additional comments?

Although part of a series, this book reads well as a standalone.

Cowboy Is Mine

Any additional comments?

Quick, easy afternoon listen. Even though this is the 5th book in the series, it is a definitely stand alone story.

The synopsis basically tells you everything you need to know except that it's an entertaining and enjoyable story. Unusual twist on a second chance at love romance since the couple is already married.

Alan Corlies did a good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Of coarse the male character voices are good but his female character voices need work. Although enjoyable for the most part I don't think he was the right narrator for the story. His voice to me seems better suited to westerns or mystery/thrillers.

Well Written

I got this book via audiobook boom. I enjoyed this story. It is the first one I have listened to about the Nirvana ranch. The story shows that all men are not stupid and callous when it comes to the heart. Two people who love each other deeply are apart for ten years. Neither is able to move on. I loved the first scene and if you listen to the book or read it you will also. The humor is outrageous. The story is filled with several plot twist that eventually leads these two star-crossed lovers to the place they should be. In each other's arms forever.
