Publisher's Summary

A restaurant heiress, a dating app, and the cowboy just down the street she's sworn off...

May Sotheby is the heiress to the ritziest restaurant in Grape Seed Falls. In business for over 100 years, her father wants the restaurant in Texas Hill Country to stay in the family for generations to come, so he lays down some hard news for May: She has one year to find a husband or the restaurant where she's worked since a teen will go to her already-married sister.

Frustrated with the cowboy-only dating scene in Grape Seed Falls and needing to find a beau fast, she joins an online dating website, TexasFaithful, hoping to find her soul mate without having to relocate - or deal with cowboy hats and boots. She has no idea that Kurt Pemberton, foreman at Grape Seed Ranch, is the man she starts communicating with.

Kurt can't get off the ranch much, so TexasFaithful is ideal for him to meet potential women without wasting time. As he nears 50, he finds his patience for finding the right woman waning, and the Christian dating website fixes all that.

When he learns May is the beautiful woman he's been corresponding with, he couldn't be happier. May, however, is scared off by the close proximity of Kurt, the big white cowboy hat, and the expectations of her family. If she'd known she was courting the cowboy all this time, she might not have done it. Will May be able to follow her heart so she can keep Kurt and her restaurant?

Enjoyable Sweet Romance

It was refreshing listening to a book about a more mature couple with established lives looking for love. However these things bring their own complications and for May and Kurt nothing could be truer. May stands to inherit her family restaurant if she can find a husband within a year. She has a busy life and hardly has the time to date much and is tired of the cowboys she has dated in the past so is certainly not looking for another one of those. Kurt also has a busy life being a Forman on a ranch and not much time for dating but would like to find someone to love. They both join a Christian dating site in hopes of finding someone there. When they do meet May realizes that Kurt is just another cowboy so she hesitant from the start. Things progress and they develop a relationship but will May’s busy life get in the way of their relationship? This was a sweet, interesting story. I never really felt a lot of passion between this couple though I thought they were good together and felt something for each other. I thought maybe it was the narrator, though she did a really good job with the narration she never really gave the couple that zing they needed when they spoke to each other. Other than that I thought it was a very enjoyable story and that the narrator did a good job. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

A love connection

A 2nd chance romance that has everything you want in a sweet romance . Two people who are total opposites but the connection is undeniable. You never know who is going to cross your path and make a love connection. The author did a great job ! Narrator does a great job using her voice in reading / acting out the female character and the male . This is a clean romance . ❤️

Hearing God and listening to your heart

Courting the Cowboy is a wonderful Christian romance. Liz Isaacson is an amazing author. Her characters are authentic and the problems they have are realistic. Caroline McLaughln is the narrator and her performance is outstanding. I wasn’t sure what May it Kurt would resolve their problems, but the ending was perfect. I received an ARC audio copy for my honest and voluntary review.

Mature love story

This is a sweet and clean story of Kurt and May who are mature (older) adults and still searching for their HEA, so glad they found each other. May had determined to never again fall for a cowboy, but Kurt showed her that they are not all the same. The narrative was very well done. I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Excellent love story

What a phenomenal story. May & Kurt have been introduced in previous Grape Seed Falls seriee books and their story came to life when they signed up for online dating and were matched. Both are older adults who think this is their “last chance” at finding their soulmate. They both work long hours so being able to chat and/or spend time together is a struggle but they make it work. Like any other couple, they have their ups & downs but thankfully, love overrules and prevails so this couple can have their HEA. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & listen to this audiobook p, as well as the entire series. If audiobooks aren’t your thing, read the books!

Enjoyed

Very much enjoyed the story. I liked the cooking competition and I really liked how they both stopped and thought about what they really wanted. It was a good story about you never know how life is going to be. The narrator did and excellent job.

Another great story by Liz Isaacson

I really enjoy stories with older characters. Too many romances are written about characters in their 20s, so it’s a refreshing change to have them a little older. I also like that Liz writes realistic life problems into her stories that need to be worked out. I’ve never been disappointed by a Liz Isaacson story.

Didn't Care Much for May

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration was ok. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a male and female narrator. Although the narrator did a pretty decent job, it was hard for me to picture a rugged cowboy. Kurt and May had an interesting start to their relationship and seemed to connect pretty quickly. I never completely saw them as a "love" connection. It felt to be like they became really good friends who loved one another and had a love of cooking in common. I did pick up hints of a more intense, romantic type of relationship periodically while listening, but they always seemed to fizzle out. I felt sorry for Kurt because he made adjustments in his lifestyle and behavior so that May could have what she wanted and be the person she thought she wanted to be at that time. I could understand his hurt at the retirement party. I could feel his pain as he made a difficult decision in his life. May was so wrapped up in herself and what she thought she wanted, that I never felt like she really "saw" Kurt until almost the end. Even at the end, I had to wonder about May's decision. Was it truly based on love, or a timeline she had in her head? Ultimately, Kurt and May did manage to reach their HEA. I would rate this at 3.5 stars. I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book received from the author.

What a Wonderful story!!

I enjoyed this lovely story. This story is well written, extremely thought out and well rounded romance. i would recommend this book to everyone who love enjoys where the couple doesn't just fall in love and live happily ever after. This story is more realistic about what some couples go through to find true happiness. The narrator does an awesome job with accents and i would love to listen to me of her narrations.

💘Kurt & May Cook Up a Sweet Romance!💘

This original story is a well written & well told. The storylines are interesting and the characters are likable and well developed. There was a nice chemistry between the two leads, May Southerly and Kurt Pemberton. They 1st met on a dating site but when their Spring Jubilee Congressional cook-off competition turned into pairs they decided to team up. A great way to start a relationship and to get to know each other. Both are career orientated, with May working in her families restaurant and Kurt on the ranch. Can their relationship survive their careers, can their careers survive their relationship. This story shows compromise, while I thought it was going to go one way it went the other. Thank you for this beautiful and enjoyable story. I listened to the audio edition, Caroline McLaughlin does a nice job narrating and performing all the voices. She switches characters effortlessly and keeps the story in a perfect flow. Thank you for the great listen. Thank you 🎧AudiobookObsession

Sweet and savory!

When characters cook together, I am immediately immersed in their story. May is getting ready to take over her parents restaurant, and needs to find a husband to meet their criteria. Jumping on the web, she joins a matchmaking site. When paired with Kurt, a cowboy, she is both attracted to him and concerned that another cowboy will not work out for her. When their churches have a cooking contest that requires pairs, the two team up to make the best meal. But will their attraction and enjoyment in the kitchen be enough to hold them together? I loved this book. From the mac and cheese to these two figuring out what makes them happy. Their age is not the typical new adult or early 30's but it is refreshing to have a story revolving around the late 30's and 40's. A certain level of maturity is in place and I think the thought processes are a little different as they find their way. With a lot tears, smiles and pecan pie, their faith is what truly brings them through.. Caroline McLaughlin is a wonderful narrator. I love her voices and inflections that she has. I especially love that her voice is very comforting, it has that warm quality of home. I loved her performance.
