My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.

The Country Cottage Inn is known for its hospitality. Leaving can be murder.

A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore and her partner in cozy crime, USA TODAY Bestseller Bellamy Bloom.

Cider Cove, Maine is the premier destination for fun and relaxation. But when a body turns up, it’s the premier destination for murder.

Kittyzen’s Arrest (Country Cottage Mysteries 1) Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.

Dog Days of Murder (Country Cottage Mysteries 2) A seminar on how to catch the perfect man is being held at the Country Cottage Inn—but with a killer on the loose, the only thing in store for the guests is a lesson on murder. Not only do I have another homicide on my hands but Jasper’s ex is in town and she’s looking to take back what once belonged to her. It’s October in Cider Cove. There’s a fright around every corner—and a killer closer than I'm willing to believe.

Santa Claws Calamity (Country Cottage Mysteries 3) It’s Christmas in Cider Cove and it’s time for the annual house decorating competition. But on the night set to determine the winner, the residents of Candy Cane Lane get more than they bargained for. They don’t just get an award—they get murder.

They warned me about the AI

They tell you that the narrator is AI but I thought it would be okay. It wasn’t. It’s like being read to by a robot . It’s fine sometimes but most of the time it annoying. As for the story it kinda confusing what’s going sometimes and I am not sure if it’s because of the way the story is written or is it because of how the story is narrated.

The awful narration

I couldn’t get past the AI narration. The inflections were off just enough to make it annoying. The inflection on each of the same word was identical. This does not hold true in real life. Made it all seem off.

I will avoid Virtual Voice

The story is well balanced between almost too naive and almost too cynical. Unfortunately, the Virtual Voice doesn't differ from character to character or between dialog and thought or narration. I found myself distracted from the story while making mental changes to the pitch and inflection of the Virtual Voice.

The AI voice was awful - not the sound but the emphasis or non emphasis of words or phrases.

The story was good. But the AI reading was just too distracting - the annunciation and emphasis of words was just too difficult to get through and began to make the story hard to follow.
