Publisher's summary

Three cowboys, three city girls, and a ranch in need of saving.

Introducing the Cotton Tree Ranch trilogy from best-selling author, Vivi Holt.

Dalton: Everything in Hazel's perfect life is going according to plan. Every moment is accounted for. But she's in for a surprise. When her best friend and roommate takes ill, Jenny begs Hazel to fill in for her on a trip to South Georgia. But life on a horse ranch in her Jimmy Choos isn't exactly what Hazel had in mind for her summer break.

When Dalton Sullivan takes a spill from a bronc at the last rodeo of the season, his life changes forever. Uncertain about his future, his fortunes take another turn when Grandpa Joe bequeaths him a dilapidated horse ranch in his will. Dalton's plans to refurbish it and turn it into a working ranch again are interrupted when a beautiful woman shows up pretending to be someone she's not.

Dalton knows Hazel's hiding the truth, but there's something about her that makes him want to change his solitary ways. But will he be able to convince her to do the same before their time together runs out?

Eamon thinks he has love and life figured out. A successful accountant, full of confidence and charm, he's got it all, including the beautiful girlfriend and the high flying job. But when his brother inherits a ranch in south Georgia, he leaves everything behind to help him run it.

Emily Zhu is a driven and ambitious surgeon from Boston. Everything in her life is structured and planned, down to the last detail. When she doesn't get the job she's been promised and has been working toward, it seems everything could come tumbling down around her. Suddenly the future is clouded with uncertainty.

When Eamon and Emily's paths collide at a wedding, they fight an immediate attraction. Eamon could be the only person who can help Emily find her feet in a world where nothing makes sense, to show her opportunity where all she sees is failure. But will she be willing to give Eamon a chance to prove he's the one thing she really needs?

Parker: When bumbling veterinarian Jennifer Barsby’s friend Hazel falls ill, she doesn’t hesitate to take action. After quitting her job in Atlanta, she packs up her life and moves to the Cotton Tree Ranch in South Georgia to take care of her sick former roommate. When circumstances change, she wonders what she should do with the rest of her life.

Handsome and brooding cowboy, Parker Williams, is just another pal, at least that’s how Jen sees him. A former Army Ranger, he’s found renewed purpose as part-owner of the ranch. But he’s given up on the idea of ever moving on or finding love. That is until Jen moves in. She’s fun-loving, accident-prone, earnest, and caring. But could she ever see him as anything more than a friend?

Find out what happens when city girls fall for country boys in these three sweet and inspirational western romance stories.

Cowboy Love

Cowboy Love

Set on the family stock horse ranch in south Georgia, three brothers find love, one at a time. I had the pleasure of listening to Dawson McBride's delightful narration of author Vivi Holt's tales of strong men and women of faith. There is also an overriding theme of "expectations." We all have them, for ourselves and our loved ones, even our friends. But at what point do others' expectation override our own--especially parental? Clean and sweet and funny; an absolute pleasure to read and hear. Note: I had read (and reviewed) the volumes out of order and each stands alone, but as a set you get the whole family picture. The set includes:

Dalton (Cotton Tree Ranch #1)

Eamon (Cotton Tree Ranch #2)

Parker (Cotton Tree Ranch #3)

Great Boxed Set!

This Boxed Set includes three stories (Dalton, Eamon, and Parker). Each story is beautifully written, sweet and heartwarming, with great characters, and a satisfying HEA. I like those stories with intertwined characters, that you can also read as a standalone. Dawson McBride has a great voice that suits these stories.

Cotton Tree Ranch

This boxed set follows the story of three brothers, Dalton, Eamon and Parker. Each one has his own book, but they are all intertwined. Although none of the characters are looking for love, things have a way of happening at Cotton Tree Ranch.

This is a wonderful sweet romance written by Vivi Holt. Just as expected, there are some bumps along the way as the couples try to find their way to be together, but the happily ever after ending that Ms. Holt's readers have come to expect is here. Ms. Holt has a wonderful way with words and her books are always very descriptive. Wonderful characters and a wonderful storyline make for a great book!

This series will have you laughing, crying and cheering for the characters. I love the way that Ms. Holt intertwines these books and the characters. There is just enough inspiration to inspire you (pardon the pun!) without being preachy. The characters are well-developed and believable and you will feel like you know them by the time you finish the book.

The narrator, Dawson McBride, has a very soothing voice and at times it was almost too soothing! The volume on my Kindle was turned up to the maximum and at times I had difficulty hearing the book. But, all in all, he did a wonderful job and added to my enjoyment of the book. His deep voice will have you swooning from the first and he does an amazing job with his narration. His performance really adds a lot to the book.

If you love inspirational romances with a HEA ending, give this series a chance. You won't be disappointed! I was given the chance to listen to the Audible version of this boxed set by the author and chose to review it.

Three books in one

I love this authors historical romance and her make believe series.
This is a contemporary romance that had a different feel to it compared to her other books.
I do prefer her other stories more then this series but it is still a good read.

An Enjoyable Box Set

I love the world created here by Vivi Holt and I loved being a spy on the wall to the lives of the three brothers who are trying to make a go of The Cotton Tree Ranch. I so enjoyed listening to these sweet love stories. I loved the way Vivi Holt painted pictures in my mind with her words, I could see the pasture and feel the heat.

DALTON: The two main characters, Hazel and Dalton, are total opposites at the start of the book, she being a total City Girl and he a Country Boy when they meet they both make assumptions, which prove to be wrong, about each other. Hazel is at Dalton's Cottontree Horse Ranch under false pretenses. He thinks she's a vet who is there to keep an eye on a valuable mare but the vet in question is Hazel's best friend who has just had surgery.

As they spend time together they begin to see beyond the surface and when nature throws them a curve ball they are brought closer together and deeper feelings develop. But can a relationship which started out as a lie grow into something more? Can Hazel give up everything she has worked for, would she even consider it, to be with Dalton? We also find out what drives both Hazel and Dalton. I really wanted this relationship to work and was so happy with the way everything worked out.

EAMON: Eamon Williams made a life-changing decision to quit his job, he was an accountant in a big city practice, but he's going to Georgia to The Cotton Tree Rance to become partners with his brothers, he's going to raise horses and be his own boss.

Emily Zhu is a surgeon who has just finished her residency and is about to commence her dream job at the hospital in Boston where she has completed her training. Emily is visiting Cotton Tree Ranch for her best friend Hazel's marriage to Dalton the eldest Williams brother. She has plans to stay for a few days holiday before heading back to her busy life.

She and Eamon are attracted to each other but she thinks that his smile is for everyone, she thinks him a flirt and doesn't take him seriously. But when it comes to her Eamon could really become a one-woman man.

Emily's job falls through, it's been given to the son of some member of the board and she's turned down every other prestigious position she had been offered. How will she tell her parents who think that being the best and working for the best hospital is a must, anything less will bring shame to them!

She decides to stay at the ranch for a few days and think about what she is going to do with her life, but the slower pace, the quiet town, the open spaces and Eamon work their magic on her and she finds herself applying for a General Practitioner position in the local town where she plans to work for a year while also doing general surgery in the hospital there which she believes will help her obtain a more prestigious position next year.

During her stay at the ranch, she and Eamon become close but she runs scared and tells him they are too different. She returned to Boston to tell her parents her plans - needless to say, that did not go well! Emily is determined to honor her contract in Georgia and live the life she has chosen for herself. But what will happen when she returns, how will Eamon fit into her plans?

I really enjoyed this story, it flows really well, the descriptive writing style of Vivi Holt brings the ranch and the people to life and when I closed my eyes I could see the pastures and feel the heat of the Georgia Summer.

PARKER: Paker, together with is two older brothers owns and runs the Cotton Tree Ranch, he's the last brother to remain unattached his brothers have both recently married or met the woman of their dreams.
Parker has retired from the Rangers and still suffers moments of stress and brooding, he isn't looking for a relationship but he is friends with Jen, his sister in law's best friend and former roommate, who he met when Dalton and Hazel married.

Jen returns to the Cotton Tree when she learns that her best friend Hazel has cancer, she is determined to be there for her and do whatever she can to make things easier. She is reunited with Parker and they become good friends. She seems to be the only person Parker really talks to.

As time passes their friendship deepens and Paker's feeling towards Jen begin to change but he's never been very good with women and wonders if it's only him feeling this way.

Everything comes to a head when a really bad storm hits and damages the ranch house, at the same time Hazel is in hospital having surgery to try and remove her cancer. Then as if that's not bad enough the insurance company finds a way to get out of paying their claim. Can things get any worse?

I enjoyed these sweet love stories I loved all six main characters. The writing style is excellent and the narration by Dawson McBride is perfect his voice really suits these books.

I would love to tell you more but that would involve spoilers so I will just say that this series is one you will not want to miss.

I was given this audio box set as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Welcome to Cotton Tree Ranch!

Come visit the ranch! You will love meeting the three Sullivan brothers!

Dalton: When your best friend needs your help, you do what you can to get things done! Hazel is taking a horse to Dalton's ranch for her best friend who just had surgery. Posing as a vet, Hazel does her best but keeps the truth from Dalton. As their romance blossoms and the sparks fly, things become complicated. Vivi Holt engages us in a romance that is sweet but not uncomplicated! She creates her well developed characters with intricate back stories and has their pasts and passions come forth in her stories. With Hazel, we meet a musician, fiercely loyal friend and someone unhappy with the path her life is taking. Holt gives Hazel the chance to learn and grow. Dalton is successful, but when tragedy hits, he has to find a new path for his life. And even that path isn't without bumps. I loved how Holt encompasses all facets of their lives, we meet interesting characters and enjoy Hazel and Dalton's journey to love.

Eamon: Eamon has come to Cotton Tree Ranch to help his brothers out. Emily comes to the ranch for Hazel and Dalton's wedding...and the sparks fly. The problem is, Emily's life is back in Boston where she is going to be a high powered surgeon, and Eamon still has a girlfriend he left back in the city. But life never is as certain as expected. When Emily finds out her job offer is no longer available, she begins to re-evaluate her priorities. And can Eamon continue a long distance relationship? This story is full of self awareness, and growing. Vivi Holt writes with elegance as the story unfolds, giving Emily a lot to deal with. She has to decide if surgery is what she wants, would she be happy in a quiet town, can she break from her dominating parents? And is the pull to Eamon strong enough to keep her at Cotton Tree? Eamon is a great man, who knows what he wants and goes after it. It's refreshing to have characters that are true to life, so much so that you feel like they could be friends of yours.

Parker: As Hazel begins her fight with breast cancer, Jenn quits her job and moves to the Cotton Tree Ranch to help her out. She gets a local job as a vet and helps around the ranch as Hazel recovers. She had no idea what else the ranch had in store for her. Parker is one of the three Williams brothers, and finds himself drawn to Jenn. He knows she is only here while Hazel gets better, but will that be enough? These two have sweet journey to their happily ever after. What I truly love about this series is the integration of the characters from book to book. While each could be a standalone, I think it's best to start with Dalton's story and continue, each building on the next. The bond between the brothers is unbreakable and the feeling on this ranch is so warm and full of family that it's hard to not fall into it. It would be easy to sit at their dinner table and just feel at home. I also loved the compassion that Vivi Holt writes about Hazel's journey with breast cancer. It's a tough topic, and she handles it with grace. Parker and Jenn are wonderful together and I enjoyed their journey.

Dawson McBride is an amazing narrator. His raspy baritone voice is perfect for the cowboy scene and he brings this family to life. His different voices are so easily distinguished. I love that the inflection in his voice will make your heart wrench or soar as he reads these stories as he brings them to life.

Welcome to Cotton Tree Ranch!

So glad that Vivi boxed these stories together. The Cotton Tree Ranch is a place where six lives come together to learn about love and life and let's not forget that a few horses are also involved. ;) I enjoyed the way Vivi wrote each character and plots and yet masterfully intertwined them too. These stories were great individually, but being able to listen to them one after another in a box set was even better!

Dawson McBride did a great job narrating. His low western drawl brings a great addition to his characters. The more I listen to Dawson, the better I like his performance.
