Conversations with the Dead is a themed trio of very short stories - yes, three very short stories - perhaps better described as anecdotal tales with a spooky twist.
In "Of Ghosts and Ghouls", Kelly is a very naughty girl, and her ill deeds have grave consequences. In "The Unwanted Birthday Gift", Mary discovers the unpalatable truth about her family. And in "Tomorrow Waits for No Man", Luke gets stuck in traffic with an unusual passenger.

The narrator, Lauren Ezzo is the perfect narrator for this audiobook. She has narrated three short stories with wonderful voice for the characters and for the twist at the end of each story.
I was given this audiobook by the author and voluntary write a review for this book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

What made the experience of listening to Conversations with the Dead the most enjoyable?
These are short, fun, ghost stories--just the sort of thing my friends and I used to try to scare each other with when we were teens. Dim the lights to set the mood, then settle in to enjoy a bit of spooky entertainment.I thought the first story was the scariest, and the last story was the most surprising. The middle story, "The Unwanted Birthday Gift," was probably my favorite though. More bittersweet than scary, it's a nice change of pace between the other two stories.
Any additional comments?
The narrator does a fine job. Her pronunciation is clear, her pacing is appropriate, and I had no trouble distinguishing between the different characters.Fun ghost stories just in time for Halloween

The Unwanted Birthday Gift: Mary is just turning 18. It’s her birthday. Her parents are separated and she has spent the week with her dad. Ice cream party! She tried to call the spirits but it might have just a been a breeze. What her mom reveals to her doesn’t make Mary happy. But there’s another twist when another relative shows up. Fun tale.
Tomorrow Waits for No Man: Luke is driving on the highway and passes a car accident, emergency vehicles everywhere. A ghost appears in the passenger seat & he tries to ignore him but eventually they talk. Tom (?) talks about his son and asks about Luke’s life. Luke has spent his life not committing to anything and pursuing pleasure. His car is held together with spit and twine because he hasn’t taken the time to keep it maintained. As Luke gets to know Tom and hear about all the things Tom will now miss out on, he really feels for the ghost. Then the real twist hits and it’s a good one. I think this was my favorite story of the trio. It’s also a great tale for the campfire. Has a little bit of a lesson in it too.
All around, great little horror trio. 5/5 stars.
The Narration: Lauren Ezzo gave us a great narration. Her masculine voices sound like men. Different voices for all the characters even though it’s 3 different stories. Especially great with old Tom and Mary’s dying mom. No tech issues with recording. 5/5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book. My opinions are 100% my own.
