This sucks as a beginner book...

I foolishly purchased several intermediate Spanish books and this one shocked me in its inability to teach or share anything useful. I thought it was just an early chapter flaw so I clicked on ch 59 & it taught abuela. PLZ DO NOT BUY THIS.

Clear drilling, could use fewer English prompts

I listen to these types of drill-oriented language books in the car, and I rarely consult the texts. It is clear that the author has put a lot of work into his book. The starter conversations are interesting enough and the speaker enunciates clearly. The conversations end and the author goes quickly into some explanation, and then drilling of the words. I'd give it a five but for the fact that the English prompts (like "repeat after me" and "in syllables" and "one more time") are repeated without any relief from them. I'd prefer if the drilling stays in Spanish after the quick intro to the word. We do get it; you can just use silence.

It gives us a practical and logical explanation

It introduces vocabulary needed for common events such as getting a flight or taking a taxi and last but not least the time it takes to read is around five minutes which, with another 5 minutes to dissect and discuss fits in really well to our class schedule. I love it and following this guidebook. Thanks for the Creator.

Prescribed!!

One of the best books I've bought for my Spanish two class. It pushes them past beginner stage without being so advanced that they can't find the main ideas in each dialogue. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Provides straightforward yet profound information

The conversations are helpful, especially if you're in that situation, as I was during a shopping trip to a specialty grocery store. I'd recommend it to others. I want to prefer this audiobook for everyone who is searching like this guide.

These books definitely open up new horizons.

I suggest that you download the accompanying PDF and occasionally listen to along with the dialogues. You can also isolate various grammar usage and explore it more for additional learning. It has valuable content for all. I'm happy with this audiobook and listening step by step.

Immensely tempting audio guide

Idioms are important and fun to know as a part of everyday life. I can listen to a lot of words on a page but no way can I spontaneously come up with dialogue, I freeze up and these will be helpful practice.

Extremely boring, long winded,

Wow, what a disappointment. Imagine 42 hours of listening to one guy’s extremely boring and long winded/unimaginative presentation. First, there is way too much English language explanation and way too little authentic Spanish. Secondly the dialogues are painful in that there are not separate actors playing the different roles. You have one guy play all roles as if reading a script where he says the name of the character he is representing each time, for example: “Juan; Hello. ... Pedro hello... Juan: what are you doing? Pedro: I am reading....” to be clear, he will say the characters name each time...because they don’t have individual actors to play the different roles! So, imagine 42 hours of this... incredibly poor execution. I stopped listening after the first few lessons. It was torturous. Also, each lesson is about 70 English translation or explanation.

classroom experience

There is far too much English in this for me. I need to hear Spanish conversations, not occasional Spanish words, interrupted by English translations and explanations. Intended for use in a car, so it might suit someone driving to work.

Just don’t like this

I read the reviews and thought this would be amazing. It is not. It jumps in far too fast and I’m just not getting the narrator at all. Upon reading the other reviews I can see that most of these are fake.

Boring garbage with an accent

Boring, dull and totally useless for learning much of anything because by the time he gets to the point of anything you're already bored to death and not listening.

The guy speaks more in English than Spanish.

He keep saying 'Repet after me' and One more time' about a million times. It still rings in my ears after days.
It's very annoying.
The stories are good and easy to learn from, if you have the passion to skip the bla, bla, bla in English to the next story.

The narration of the book is fully like its name

Recommended! I love it and following this audiobook. Thanks for the Creator. These dialogs are well written to be in current situations and issues. I like that after the Spanish dialog there is the English translation.

This book has done overcome my expectations

Worth to listen!!! I thought that the conversations were interesting and plausible. It's laid out well to use with someone else to practice speaking. I had a good time working with my daughter to help up both sharpen our speaking skills. Good book for beginners and intermediates.
