Maybe a 3 1/2

All in all I would say that it is Christian fluff. Although there was conflict involved it seemed as if everything was resolved way too easily and left holes in how things happened. I enjoyed the characters and their interaction with each other, their story was a lot of fun. Their was a lot of scripture and religious talk, while a little I don't mind, it is after all a Christian book, there was enough that I found myself tuning out. Not the best book I have read but by far from the worst.

Romantic Suspense or Sunday School Lesson?

This story was cute and funny for the most part, but the "inspirational" aspect of it was a bit over the top for my tastes. I consider myself a very spiritual person, but I felt this writer almost bludgeoned you with biblical references. However, in spite of all that, I still found the characters very likable and the plot was well-executed. The narrator was also quite good.

controlling interest (Unabridged)

The book's bio is misleading. I felt I was being lectured to on Christianity; it is more a recruitment pamphlet for the Christian faith than reading a fictional story. I did not enjoy it at all.

Entertaining and irritating in equal measure

This is my first audiobook by Elizabeth White and I have largely enjoyed it. The story is quite a common subject these days - that of arranged/forced marriage - tied up in a detective/romance ribbon. It is pretty well read but there is a major error at the heart of the book which drove me totally crazy. The Pakistani girl at the heart of the book is referred to throughout as being Middle Eastern and there are constant references to the way things are done in the "Middle East". Maybe I'm just too pedantic but I cannot imagine how a mistake this major can have made it throught the publication and editing process of the book and then into the audiobook without being spotted. If this will not drive you as crazy as it made me then you will enjoy this title. Good luck.
