Publisher's Summary

Let go of the past to have any chance at a future...

I'm shocked when Rafael Menendez de Aviles - my first love, my one downfall - appears at my business, offering to save it from bankruptcy. I'm even more stunned when Rafael, looking hotter than ever, makes a proposition: spend the next month together, allowing him to do anything he desires with me.

And make no mistake: he will demand everything, and make me submit.

If I agree to his indecent proposal, my business gets everything it needs and I get almost everything I desire. But is Rafael only back in my life to show me what I've missed all these years? Is he out for revenge? Or something more dangerous - like love?

I'm not sure, but I know this: I'm powerless against his touch, his kisses, his body.

Opening our hearts and giving our bodies to each other a second time may destroy us forever...especially when the pain of the past and difficult choices for the future collide.

Amazing read!

I went into this book completely blind, I hadn't even heard of the author. The cover caught my eye and I knew I just had to read it! I am so happy that I went in blind! It was an amazing, refreshing new twist on billionaire romances. The characters were so well written that I felt every single emotion they were feeling. There are so many hot scenes and sweet moments that add up to an explosive book!

The narrator was also new to me and did not disappoint!

Loved it~

This Author was completely new to me. Despite that, I was drawn in from the very beginning. The characters were were written in a way that I could easily fall in love with them and their story. The book contains the perfect amount of heat and story. I truly enjoyed the push and pull of their romance and the turmoil of trying to move past a history full of heartbreak.

The narration was very good- I loved the Cuban accent! It was well read and a pleasure to listen to.

I will easily recommend this book to my fellow audio lovers.

Great storyline but lacks emotion

Truly enjoyed the story of Raphael and Justine, with its twists and turns and highs and lows, the narrators were a little flat. The emotion that the book suggests are just not there. I look forward to reading the pages of the story and putting my own verbal flair to it. Always enjoy a happily ever after this ending was superb.

Struggling

I had quite a bit of a struggle with this story. I was only able to listen to it in about 20 mins instalments particularly for the whole first half. This first half really was dragged out and about a constant and unrequited craving of the heroine without much progress either in the story or in character development. I didn't like the hero too much. Despite his less then ideal upbringing he seemed like he was a spoiled kindergartner stucked in the body of a grown-up man constantly thorwing a hissy fit because he didn't get the pony for his eight birthday, or something along these lines. I would have liked him to do a bit more groveling. There were things I liked though. I liked how they dropped their masks and defenses only for each other. That they were each other's first and lasts too in many ways.

The narrator did a pretty good job with this audio. I liked her pacing and the voices with which she impersonated the different characters. As I don't have such experience I couldn't decide if the Spanish accent was spot on or not but I did like it.

Constant Craving

What measures would you take to save your business? Would you sleep with your ex to save your family legacy? Well, Justine Lavoie faced this dilemma. Justine is the publisher for the Times a well-established newspaper in the city of St. Augustine. Unfortunately, it is plagued with financial difficulties forcing her to seek a bailout from an equity firm. It so happens that the firm, which chose to invest in the newspaper, her ex Raphael Menendez de Aviles recently purchased it. Now Justine faces her biggest challenge coming to terms with her past while trying to save her family legacy.

The story told from Justine’s POV provided insight into her current and past feelings for Raphael. It is clear she never stopped loving him as such accepting his proposal of spending a month with him in exchange for him helping her business was not a hard feat. However, will she be able to walk away at the end of the thirty days as she did fifteen years ago?

I became absorbed in Justine’s life. I may not have agreed with some of her actions, but her motives were clear. I think that having the story told from her perspective helped, as I was privy to her thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I sympathized with her then next I wanted to shake her. Why would she allow him to treat her that way? I know she wanted to save her paper, and she never stopped loving Raphael but no woman worth her salt should allow any man to treat her like a whore no matter the circumstances.

I found Raphael cold and distant, and as a result, I had a hard time connecting to him. It would have been great to get things from his perspective. It appears revenge motivated his actions, but was it because Justine walked away ending their relationship or did it go deeper? One thing that came out in all of this was Raphael’s fear of having his heart broken once again. Despite this, I still did not understand who he was as an individual.

These two frustrated me at times. They kept blaming each other for their breakup, but never tried to discuss the issues that led to the demise of their relationship. I kept wondering what could have caused the break up seeing they love for each other was so deep. My frustration with them increased when the reasons for their relationship ending came to light. If only they had communicated with each other, then they could have avoided their current situation.

I like the fact the story went back to their days in college providing insight in to how their love for each other developed. These were the scenes that convinced me of their love for each other. A love that intense would definitely stand the test of time. Due to the slow pacing I had a hard time getting into the story at first (the narration did not help) eventually things picked up and I hoped these two will get it right the second time around.

Narration
Unfortunately, the narration did not work for me. I tried listening at 1.5x and the narrator sounded like someone pumped on helium. I ended up listening at1.20x. At this speed, she sounded flat, and the narration had no life. Her male and female voices were distinct; however for Raphael the Spanish accent was non-existent. Her pronunciation of the Spanish words needs work.
What saved this for me was the fact that read and listened to the book. If I had to rely on the audio solely, I would have given upon the book.

Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall, this was a good story, I am not sure I would listen to more from the narrator but I would definitely read more from this Tamara Lush.

I received a copy of this audiobook courtesy of Audio Book Obsession, which in no way affected my review.

Not a fan

I typically only listen to audiobooks after I have read the book version, but having won this a while back, I figured why not?

This audiobook does not make me want to go read the book. It was painful and i listened to it on 1.5x to just get through it faster. The narrator was droning and I had to fight to not zone out.

The story was not exciting as well. Justine is running her family's business of a newspaper but being moden times, newspapers just aren't as valuable for consumers anymore, so she calls up an investment firm to help her. Said investor is her ex.

Half of the book dragged on. It is such a slow story line. The only good parts are when they had sex. Justine's character bored me and Rafael I disliked. I couldn't connect with either of them, and I disliked then together even more.

Overall not a story for me.

Second chance romance melts my heart.

I love a good second chance romance story. Wow, how these two main characters have been put to the test, not only as individuals, but as a couple as well. And to top that off they have one of the steamiest relationships that I have ever heard/read. So hot!! Highly recommend this story.

I need more

Constant Craving is a sexy and intense. The angst and sensuous places equally well and made this a good listen. I am up for the next part of the story. The characters were well developed and believable. I am quickly becoming a Tamara Lush fan. Nicole Blessing does an excellent job of making the characters come to life.

Painful narration.

This was painful to complete. The narration was boring as if the narrator really didn’t want to read the book. I usually listen at 1.5 speed but I kicked it up to 1.75 just to get through it faster. The book was somewhat interesting so I am glad that it was at least in the audible escapes section.

Steamy and lush

Justine has called in a finance company in a last ditch attempt to save her family paper, but ends up facing the past she has tried to forget these last fifteen years. This story is as steamy and lush as the Florida setting, the off the scale pull between Rafael and Justine threads through the narrative as they fight to overcome their past. I found it to be thrilling and gripping. I voluntarily listened and reviewed an advanced copy of this story. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Constant Craving

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. Rafael and Justine had such an explosive chemistry that the sex was hot and dirty and very often. Both were likable characters even if their communication skills were sometimes lacking. Nicole Blessing did a great job bringing the characters to life. I loved her male voice for Rafael as well as his sexy accent. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

3.5 stars

The whole plot is such a good story, but it kills me to say I don’t think I was carried out as well as it could’ve been.
I didn’t like either character. I thought Justine was a little weak and needy, and Rafael was awful to her at times as well as full of himself. It seemed like every time they were together they were having sex, and I wanted more story instead. I enjoyed the narrative of when the weren’t together, but it just didn’t meet my expectations unfortunately.
Had I have read it instead of listened to the audiobook, my review may be different, but the narrators male voice didn’t appeal to me.
I do like this narrator for a female POV though.
Overall the writing was good, the story just wasn’t for me.
