Lots of Angst and a Surprise 3rd POV

Overall 3.5 stars
Performance 4 stars
Story 3 stars

Concerto is book 2 in the North Security series and should only be read/listened to after Overture. Samantha and Liam's story picks up pretty much where book 1 left off, but overall there isn't a lot of action in the book. There's still angst galore in this taboo age gap romance, but it felt like the majority of the book was spent diving into the emotions and getting to know some of the supporting characters. The biggest surprise was the 3rd POV introduced briefly in the story and I'm really hoping that we see a book for him in the future.

Teddy Hamilton's narration as Liam was amazing again, but there were more Samantha chapters, so a good portion of the book is performed by Grace Grant. Her male voices aren't my favorite and I'm still struggling a bit with her narration, but overall it was an enjoyable listen. The cliffhanger isn't bad in this one, but I still can't wait for Samantha and Liam's conclusion in Sonata to release!

Concerto was like a sarabande

Having read Overture, book 1 in the North Security series, I was anxious and excited to see what would happen to Samantha Brooks violin prodigy and Liam North, her once guardian and constant protector. I didn't love this book as much as Overture, but I find that to be a trend for me. I am not the person who is going to tell you that Empire Strikes Back was the best of the original Star Wars trilogy I always preferred Return of the Jedi. I think that is for a few reasons which are mirrored in this story. First, you know going into it that you will be left with a cliff hanger and the story will be unresolved. I feel that the second book is often used to set up the third, and so it doesn't hold its own the same way the first or third will. In the case of Concerto, I felt that Samantha was a little wishy washy in her resolve. In certain parts you would see her growing up, standing up, fighting back and holding her own, only to question her own confidence a few minutes later. There is a lot of push and pull between her and Liam, which is very realistic, but at the same time made it seem like the characters didn't know where they were going or what they really wanted. I found my self thinking "huh, really?" a few times when characters made decisions. That being said the last 1/4 of the book picked up speed and there was some great intrigue and action (both kinds ;)). I definitely enjoyed this book and i recommend that it be read or listened to. Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton were stellar as always. I am really looking forward to reading Book 3.

Brilliant follow up

Skye Warren never misses a chance to show you what a master of romantic suspense she truly is. You are fully engaged from minute one.

I can’t stress this enough you must listen to or read Overture prior to starting this. And these are both worth the credit.

Don’t even try to figure out where this is going just enjoy the ride. There are so many twists and revelations you will always be on your toes. And in true Warren fashion there is steaminess for days. You are going to blush.

I can’t compliment Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton enough. They are wildly talented. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to this pair before do so immediately. You will start to listen to search out their work. They could make the phone book sexy.

Luscious Melodiousness!

Concerto (North Security Book 2) continues the tale of forbidden romance between violinist Samantha Brooks and her former guardian. What unfolds will drawl you into this world of intense revelations & secrets revealed in intricately weaved into the narrative. Surpassing Overture, I couldn't stop listening to this audiobook as a piece of cake. Prospering from Overture to Concerto Samantha Brooks blooms into adulthood. Liam North is a intriguing character with a complex personality.
Skye Warren concocted a gripping, sensuous, and intense tale that leaves you awestruck. Danger lurking through the narrative with uncertainty trickling down. Betrayal, mystery, and murder has step up one's game in this series.

Narators Grace Grant & Teddy Hamilton performance kept me intrigued to till the end. All the right sentiments in the right places.
I found Grace Grant's tone sound a bit older than Samantha Brooks character. However, it didn't take anything away from the narative. A entertaining listen.

I'm looking forward to listening to Sonato the conclusion of this trilogy series when its available.

This book is warm, enticing and has a moving narrative, the author delves into the past and the feelings of Liam, Samantha and Josh. This book provides incite about various characters and secrets to be revealed, the author delivers a plot with an electrifying end, where important decisions can forever change the fate of the couple. Great Second Book in the Series!

This is the second book in the North Security Series. The story continues where the first book ended. This story is beautifully written. The stoyline is intriguing, suspenseful, action packed, filled with danger, drama, and twists and turns. I love the chemistry between Samantha and Liam. Now, I can't wait for Sonata, the last book in the Series. Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed my listening. #AudiobookObsession

Can't wait for more!

I can't wait to hear the final installment of this series. I loved book 2 so much! Liam and Samantha's story continues and as a musician myself, I just connected with this story. I loved the danger aspect and the way Samantha and Liam's love story develops. Liam is a tortured hero and you learn a bit more about his past.

Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant were superb! I always enjoy their work as narrators.

grrrrrrrr

Skye is the evil type of story teller that pulls you in so deeply that you feel a profound sense of loss when her stories are completed. She weaves her tale and build the world in a way that makes you part of the story. I am so drawn in, only to get to the end and be left counting the minutes until I can continue the tale once more. This book is what I will call a growing book. The Main character is no longer a child and is coming into her own. What that means in full, we will soon see but it is a pleasure to listen to the tale unfold.

Grace and Teddy do a marvelous job on narration. There performances are flawless. Teddy has become one of my insta-buy men when it comes to narration. I am never disappointed with what he brings to the table.

Forbidden Romance

Concerto by Skye Warren is a forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant. This is book two in the North Security Series. Book three Sonata is currently not released on Audio but is available in print. Also, book four Audition will be available October 29, 2019. I cannot wait to dive into the sequels.

All I can say is wow! Skye did it again with an amazing sequel to Overture. I love the Dark Forbidden Romance with the Suspense throughout the novel. There are just enough sexual scenes for the romance portion, but I really love the suspense of the storyline surrounding Samantha and Liam life.

Teddy and Grace are an amazing duo. They really bring the story to life.

Captivating sequel to this series

This story picks up where Overture left us. It was still very suspenseful, sexy and with some very intriguing developments. However, I felt like the tempo compared to the 1st book, which I really enjoyed, was a level slower. I still loved the story and it managed to keep my interest, but my expectations were set higher, I guess.

The audio performance of Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton was amazing though. If you read this, definitely take the audio version. They really gave depth to the characters and heightened the experience with this story for me.

I loved the development of Samantha. She really grew a lot through this book and I admired her for finally standing up for herself and the things she wanted. Liam, on the other hand, was still a mystery to me. What were his motives? What did he want after all? What drove him? We had some glimpses in his painful past but they were not nearly enough. I’m a sucker for drama and I think I would have enjoyed learning more details about him and his background story. Sadly, I really didn’t quite understand his actions at times and couldn’t completely justify them. Maybe everything will make more sense in Sonata.

Also, too many new characters were thrown into this book. And although some of their stories intrigued me, I just couldn’t fully connect with them for the short time we met them and their appearance in the book kind of slowed the inertia of the main story which is Liam and Samantha’s. I guess it’s a set up for more stories to come later and probably they are intertwined somehow, but at this point, it was too much information that I didn’t fully care about and it kind of confused me. Who is who and what they are trying to achieve? Are they some of the good guys, or the bad ones?
I loved Jesse’s character though and would really want to read his story if he ever has one.

The ending was intense, action-packed and with some very nail-biting moments which I really enjoyed. Now I need the 3rd installment in this series and hopefully, all the secrets would be finally revealed and everything would make perfect sense.

My Thoughts on Concerto

Once again Skye Warren has written an incredible book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to do nothing until I finished the story. And that ending!!! Once again with these endings that either break my heart, or leave me in suspense, or both.

Liam was still such an addictive character. He was so broken and you just want him to be happy. He was definitely my favorite character in this story. But I am also super hopeful for a Josh book in future. He seems like he's got some layers that need to be peeled back.

This story was brought to life by two amazing narrators. Teddy Hamilton has become a new addiction. I want to run out and grab more and more romamce he narrates. I liked Grace Grant as well. If I'm honest, I'm not sure I always felt she was believable as an 18 year old, but she was a good narrator all the same.

I really hope book three comes to audio soon because I will be excitedly awaiting it.

Liam and Samantha!

Ever since Liam became her guardian six years ago Samantha has lived in a cocoon, protected at every turn but now that she is going on tour and leaving North Securities compound that is about to change. The transformation of Samantha in this story is like a caterpillar to a butterfly as she spreads her wings and embraces her independence even if her heart still belongs to Liam.

It is taking all the strength that Liam has to let her go and become the woman that she is meant to be. He may not be there physically, but he knows exactly what is going on with her and at the first sign that the danger surrounding her is becoming too close nothing will keep him away.

This story takes you on a twisty ride filled with great secondary characters, suspense and a chemistry and connection between Liam and Samantha that overpowers everything. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and thought that the narrators did a great job of bringing the emotion and angst of the story to life.

Great story

Great continuation of the series. More drama, action and tension than Overture. I was glad that Samantha started to show more backbone in this story. Can't wait to see what happens next.
The narrators are the two perfect people to bring these characters to life.

So intense!

Concerto was so good!

It's like a love letter to classical music. The story kind of hums and I felt like I could hear the music. But it's also a very suspenseful story. I was suspicious of pretty much *everyone* until the big revelation.

And I found I have this Liam-shaped soft spot in my heart. Because it broke so many times for him. I can't wait for the conclusion of the trilogy!

As for the narration, it was perfect. Grace Grant is absolutely amazing in this role. And Teddy Hamilton is as awesome as always!

Concerto

This is book 2 in the North Security series and is the continuation of Liam and Samantha's story and not a standalone. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book with its suspense, danger, drama, and steamy moments. I am anxiously awaiting Sonata which I believe is the conclusion to this story. Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton are both amazing narrators and did a great job bringing this story to life.

In love with this narration!!

Well Good Lord, what's a reader suppose to do with all these amazing stories released lately? Samantha and Liam are just such a compulsive story! Listening to Concerto had my heart racing... I was enamoured with Sam and Liam's story. Warren is a masterful writer! She has the ability to turn her characters to real boys and girls... I was ensnared in this book. There's just no other way to say it. Concerto held me Captive the day it took to listen to it.

The narration was spot on! Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton narrated the first book in the series and this one... I'm hopeful they'll continue with the last book. Grace Gakrant has such a beautiful voice. I just love to listen to her narration. Teddy Hamilton isn't hard to listen too either. They just fill your ears and heart with this lovely and vibrant voice. I'm seriously looking forward to the final installment!!

Now we need the Sonata!

Liam and Samantha's story continue with Concerto. Being a music lover, I am feeling the build up to a crescendo in this part of the trilogy. With Samantha on tour now and away from Liam, she is given little independence. She is still in danger and it seems no matter how she is protected, it's not enough. Her father is always lurking. As hard as he tries to stay away, Liam just can't and their relationship though steamy, it still lacks the real love and commitment they both seek. Liam holds back. But now things are getting out of hand, the twists and turns are great, we don't know who to trust and the show is almost over. What will happen next? I can't wait to see! Skye Warren needs to bring this down with a strong forte and then glide into a beautiful love song! I am just hoping I am not asking for too much!

Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant continue their wonderful narration of this story. They each bring a semblance of realism to the narration, where it's easy to understand each character's whims and motives. I loved it and can't wait for them to finish out the trilogy.
