Very, very very basic

I expected a little more around the basics of all programming languages and the structures of the individuals. This would be good for someone who thinks they want to go in to app dev but wants to focus on a starting point I guess...more of an into to an intro.

Not For Beginners

The book in hard-copy may be suitable for beginners but not in audio format!

If listening to a dry reader reading lists is your thing - get this book.

Deceiving Subtitle.

I guess it's partly my fault, but the length of the book should have given it away. In a nutshell, it is a very short, brief description of each language its respective history. Should be named Computer programming languages overview, not computer programming for beginners. You will definitely not learn anything useful in the sense of actually programming anything. This book can easily be replaced by a brief, shallow google search.

I am trying to write a SQL statement !

I am trying to write a SQL statement that would count the total number of pay dates for each employee. The examples in the book were great, but I wish there were more regarding what I deal with.

Obviously the title is a play on words.

Obviously the title is a play on words. The book is basically broken down into 10 minute lessons. If you work your way through this short book, in no time you will be effortlessly writing queries. I like it because it short and to the point. I keep it as a good reference when I get stuck on something.

This is a great books for beginner's at SQL. It shows many commands not often found in beginner books. I've always had trouble with joins and this book explains them in such a way that I doubt I'll ever have issues again. Highly recommend if you are familiar with databases in general.

Nice and pretty well

This is a great book for beginners who want to learn more on the subject and absolute basics of computer programming in C++. It demonstrates the core principles and other definitions on the nature of programming in an easy to understand manner. This is a perfect book for those who want to take those first steps into programming, but are intimidated by all of the jargon. The book breaks everything down into easily digestible bite-sized chunks. Highly recommended.
