Emotional highs and lows ... and plenty of steam

BDSM can be a difficult read if not done right ... but this was done right. An emotional roller coaster that brings their highs and lows into sharp contrast, while giving true insight into the desires she has and the devotion that consumes him. It's sweet, and hot, and agonizing, and explosive, and under all of that is a love that is transcendent. As for the performance - - I have to agree that the words of the songs are difficult to understand (I bought the Kindle edition to be able to see what I couldn't hear), but beyond that, it was spot on. You could feel every emotion in each word, all the longing in every tone. It was perfect. Erotica is often light on plot, giving only enough story to prop up the sex, but that's not the case here. There's a true story to be enjoyed, and the sex merely seasons the dish with just the right amount of spice. A great listen all the way round.

great series of books

A great series of books CD Reiss makes it all so beautiful; with psychological/emotional undertones as to why it's a thing for the main characters make a lot of sense and make it all very real. The plot is well thought-out, and the writing is impeccable. What I love most though is the banter between the hero and heroine - they're both smart asses and their interaction is sweet, funny, rich, heartwarming and charming all at once. This is the standard and quality of writing I hold other kinky smut to... and so far, not much else is comparable.

This is an awesome series of books! Love them very much! The narrators were amazing. After listening to so many of these kinds of love and bondage stories a lot of them start to sound the same. The authors use the same verbs to describe what the characters are experiencing. CD Reiss did not do that and I found it very refreshing. I felt like she was pulling my thought and feelings straight out of my mind and heart. It was very realistic. Very emotional for me. Laughing, crying, cringing and loving. Read or listen to this series!

Revisted a favorite in Audio this time....

I revisited my favorite dominant and submissive couple via Audio this time. Christian Fox’s narration brought Jonathan Drazen to life. His performance was perfect and spot on. Jo Raylan took a little getting used to as Monica but by mid-point, I was a fan. Although, I could have done without her singing. So many great reviews have already been written but will add that C.D. Reiss’ storytelling and writing is poetry engulfed by a tidal wave of kink. I loved it!

oh gosh!!!

this series i have no words. i cried i loved i prayed i wished so many emotions for characters in a book. i truly loved this series. cd reiss did an amazing job at bringing you into he story and weaving it around to where i thought i was in the story. it was amazing. the last book though dont listen to it while your at work people thought something was wrong with me and it was the book and tears rolling down my cheecks most of the day not cool lol loved it though

So much emotion!

First time reading this author and now she's my new favorite. Now I'm off to order the rest of her books.

if this whole thing was one book without so much hot it would have been so much better. the hot parts were a filler and nothing more.

Outstanding writing that kept me on my toes, made me laugh, cry and in one instance cringe while I admired Monica’s fortitude with the lusty Mr. Drazen and his delicious and diabolical mind. Jo Raylan is truly a goddess for her portrayal of numerous characters and her beautifully haunting singing. Christian Fox’s sexy voice always makes me swoon! This collaboration is truly a work of art!

Outstanding!

This was my first CD Reiss book and it absolutely blew me away. The story is incredible and it was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. It broke my heart and put it back together again several times. I loved every single minute of it. I haven’t had such strong emotions pulled from me in a very long time. I loved all of the characters. Jo Raylan and Christian Fox are insanely talented narrators. I haven’t shut up about this book yet and I’ve recommended it to everyone I know! Amazing.
