Publisher's Summary

Do you want to find out how to get better results in the workplace both individually and with your colleagues? Do you know that communication in the workplace is the key to successes even in everyday life?

Communication is an important tool for increasing productivity and promoting great relationships across all levels of an organization. Employers who invest their resources in building an effective communication system will quickly earn their employee’s trust which results in increased productivity and business growth. Similarly, employees who are good at communicating with fellow workers, management, and customers, become valuable to the company, and additionally, this skill fast tracks them to success. Poor communication only leads to disillusioned employees who slowly but irreversibly lose their faith in both the employer and the company, thus resulting loss of staff, and decreased productivity. Effective communication helps in creating strong teams.

Nothing worth achieving as a company is ever created by a single person. It’s all about teamwork. Thanks to effective communication, the team can draw close together and accomplish its objectives in time. Effective communication also promotes innovation. When there are clear channels of passing messages across to relevant parties, a powerful idea won’t just sink away, but it is harnessed.

Effective communication promotes business growth in terms of turnover and also makes the brand more visible.

This book explores the importance of effective communication in the workplace and also provides actionable tips in improving workplace communication.

Terrible

Full of cliches, overtly obvious knowledge, broad generalizations, redundancies, and conflicting information. I don't think that I learned anything and I'm annoyed that I spent money on this. Not sure how this book has such good reviews.

WORST BOOK EVER

The narrator was so awful that it was comical at times. The content of the book failed to have any useful/valuable insights whatsoever.

This would be a great!

Very interesting! Who really would stop and think that there are different aspects of appreciation. It is so important to acknowledge people in a way that is important to them or you could be shooting yourself in the foot, so to speak. If you are working on team-building, this would be a great read!

Excellent book!

This is a book that I recommend regularly. Using these techniques at work ensures that you are showing appreciation in a "language" that your coworkers/employees actually feel. Easy read. Very transferable skills.

Amazing changes, awareness

Amazing changes, awareness, and new appreciation amongst colleagues & superiors. Great steps, ideas, and steps for something better and good for the workplace. The statistics at the beginning of the book speak volumes to why today's companies are losing good people.

Supervisor book

Looking at relationship building with this paradigm is very easy to understand. I really enjoyed the real-life examples of how people experience their current situations and how they identified the changes they needed to make.

Awesome book with interesting case studies

The book is easy to read, and well organized. The case studies are enjoyable and relevant to the topics discussed. The case studies also act as a solid foundation for interactive group discussions.

disappointing, more focused on perfume

I was hoping for a book about how to communicate effectively in terms of defining strategies, plans, objectives and so on. but this is for teenagers who need to be told how to dress and not wear too much perfume. very basic and of no benefit to people who have actually worked in a real work place for more than 5 minutes.

Strategies for technical writing

I read this book to be more intentional in being a better communicator, thinking my listening was a strength. As I read, the author brought up when your mind wanders while listening to someone else speak or if you're thinking that you wish they'd get to the point already. I have to admit I do that at times. Being more aware of that and the tips to bring my attention back and focus were worth reading it.

Five Stars

The book was what I needed. There are a few writings and markings in the book? But other than that it will do.This book has excellent examples and step by step instructions on how to write proper letters, resumes, analytical reports, and more. It has been a very good resource to me throughout my technical writing course.

Small book with a workable plan that works

I'm currently taking a technical writing class and I am definitely not a writer. This is the first book that involves writing that I have found useful. The book has clear examples, sidenotes, and other items that are actually pertinent and usable. Amazingly the book is also down to earth and isn't condescending.

Great self improvement book

This book is amazing. It is simple and to the point and offers key steps and questions to help you and your spouse get on the communication page together. I have a degree in psychology, so I know how in depth communication skills can go, but they made it easy for anyone to understand and implement

Excellent book

This book is well written, concise and conversational. Easy to read with the right amount of life experiences shared while not overwhelming. I started reading this due to dysfunction with communication at work and quickly realized it's applicable to every relationship with every person I encounter, every day.
