Critic Reviews

"Graeme Garden and Jon Naismith, the team behind I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, have created a winningly simple new comedy panel game." (Stephanie Billen, The Observer)
"This is the funniest thing I've heard on Radio 4 in years and I'm considering suing the network for irreparable damage to my sides." (Jane Anderson, Radio Times)

FUN

I have listened to this audio over ten times and there is always a smile on my face during my listening. British comedy has always appealed to me and the fact that I learn from this adds to the enjoyment. Please bring more of these out to Audible. AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY

Entertaining and Educational

David Mitchell hosts the most entertaining radio program on the air right now. The entire series is worth it.

Brilliant

Although not quite as polished as it has now become, this first series of The Unbelievable Truth does not disappoint.

Excellent guests were supported and hindered in equal measure by the brilliant David Mitchell whose sardonic comments were often as funny as the lectures themselves.

A simple concept - smuggle truths in a lecture full of lies - provides ample scope for the surreal and the ridiculous both in the lies and truths.

The programme appeals to a wide age range - my teenage daughter enjoys it as much as I do - and whilst occasionally risque, nothing that would offend.

Brilliant from the start

What did you like most about The Unbelievable Truth, Series 1?

It's great to be able to go back and listen to the episodes I didn't catch. I only started listening to it after it had been going a few series.

What other book might you compare The Unbelievable Truth, Series 1 to, and why?

It's not a book, it's a radio panel show, so that's a tough one. Comparing it to a book would be like comparing a chair to a toasting fork. Both useful in their own way, but you'd better understand what they're for or there's going to problems.

Compares favourably with other radio panel shows. Beats The News Quiz and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue in my view. David Mitchell is a great host and the guests and their "lectures" are very funny.

What does David Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

N/A

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Improbably, we've turned a radio panel show into a film.

BEST PANEL SHOW EVER

Because I can't find anywhere else to listen to it I got this. IT'S PERFECT!!! You don't have to change the episode! The funniness just keeps on coming.
