Publisher's summary

George Mahood had a nice, easy, comfortable life. He had a job, a house, a wife, and kids. But something was missing. He was stuck in a routine of working, changing nappies, and cleaning up cat sick. He felt like he was missing out on a lot of what the world had to offer. He then discovered that it was Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day. The day after that was National Curmudgeon Day, and the day after that was Inane Answering Machine Message Day.

In fact, the calendar is full of these quirky, weird, and wonderful events. He realized that somebody somewhere had created these holidays, believing that they were important enough to warrant their own official day. Surely he should therefore be more appreciative of their existence? So he decided to try and celebrate them all. As you do. He hoped that at the end of the challenge he would be transformed into a happier, more intelligent and more content person.

Follow George on his hilarious, life-changing adventure as he tries to balance his normal life with a wealth of new experiences, people, facts, and ridiculous situations. It's a rip-roaring, life-affirming, roller coaster of a ride, where every day is a holiday.

George Mahood Is One of the World's Best Kept Secrets

I love the wacky adventures of George and his conversational approach. From the interesting adventures before he married to his hilarious experiences as a father, every day is an adventure, and s holiday! This book was the first I've listened to and I found it was an enjoyable way to "read" this title.

Great listen. I'm totally hooked on George Mahood's humor and storytelling. You get to learn a lot about his family and get to feel you know them at some point.

You can't go wrong with George

George Mahood tells a good story. He seems almost like a kid who needs a lot of entertainment to keep him occupied. I've read all his books and hope they make them all into audio versions as they are all entertaining.
In this one, he is now the father of 3 and trying to figure out how to add a bit of excitement to their daily lives, so he starts investigating what zany holidays are celebrated for each day of the year. Some of them are pretty small, so he combines some and celebrates 2 or 3 on some of the days. His kids seem to enjoy the extra added fun, but his wife isn't quite as thrilled with a few of them.
A nice pleasant listen.

Makes me laugh!

Another delightful listen! I usually listen on my commute to work and home. One day, I had to pull over because I was laughing so hard, I couldn't see to drive!

Every Day is a Holiday

A very easy listen with several laugh at loud moments. Looking forward to his next audible book. I might have to give celebrating all the holidays a try! George does have a lovely family.

Loved it

even more in audible form (I bought the kindle version years ago). Usually I prefer the author to read his or her work, if possible, but I can't fault James Elliott on any level. I particularly admired how he handled women's and children's voices. A laugh out loud funny book, impeccably narrated. I wish Mr. Mahood would finish the project and do the rest of the year. Definitely recommend, and don't miss his other books, you won't regret it 🙂
