One of Britain's best loved comics performs what is considered to be his best ever series, recorded in front of a studio audience.
I was looking forward to this, but was quietly let down. It was all new material I've not heard before (which is always a concern when you buy a compilation volume), but it all felt a bit dated.
Some of Jasper's material was predictable and dwelled on how old he was and the trouble with his kids.
I think quite a lot is lost when you can't actually watch him on stage. He's a marvel of facial expressions and it's genius how he works the audience. This is lost in the audio book.
I probably wouldn't be buying volume 2.
