Okay

I was going to give this book a 4 star until Juliette moved in with Geo. It was like all her strength as a character just left. I felt like the plot needed some work. It takes about a day to get from New York to Europe but the author made it seem like a few hours. How did Julie get home from Venice. It's not a cheep flight for a women who was supposed to be broke. I liked Julie. I thought she was refreshing but the author made Geo too mean for too long in the book. The sex scenes felt rushed and not too sexy. This book needed to be longer in order for the writer to take her time with character and plot development. The book felt too rushed.

I really liked the story, not the narration

Would you try another book from Ruth Cardello and/or Kim Thompson?

Billionaire falls for regular girl. I loved it!

I will definitely try another book by Ruth Cardello. This story was a break from the heavy angst and dark books I had been reading. However, I don't think I will listen to another book read by Kim Thompson. The narration sounded like it was done in the reader's basement. There was humming in the background. First I thought it was my iPhone then I thought there was issues with my car stereo. There were no problems with any of my devices. There were all issues that involved the narration. Kim Thompson did a nice job with the female voices, but Geo's voice always sounded angry. Even when he tried to sound loving, the tone was no different than when he was talking to his brothers. Also, Geo's voice barely even sounded masculine. The narrator put in little to no effort. In the dialogue, there was barely a pause between the switch in POVs. It felt like an upgrade from Suri (iPhone narrator) reading the book to me. There was a break in between chapters, but there was barely a break between the switch in POVs. So when there was a switch I had to think if it was the heroine's thoughts or the hero's thoughts. The narration was very disappointing since the sound quality was awful and the narration itself was not professional and I think when I pay for it on audible, I expect more. Also the narrator sounded rushed. There were parts in the book that felt like she had to get through it as if she had to get dinner ready or pick up her kids from school.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Come Away with Me?

I loved the initial meeting between Julia and Geo. Also I love the way Julie handled the rich lady in the clothing boutique. Julia was just a great heroine. I love heroines like her and I hope when I read more of Ruth Cardello's books her other heroines have as big of hearts as Julia's.

Do you think Come Away with Me needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I do think that Come Away with Me needs a sequel. I feel that Geo and Julia's story just ended. There are so many unresolved issues like Geo's mother and how she feels about Julia. Plus, I want to know about Julia's business and her parents. I want to see Geo meet her parents and maybe see their love since he never saw that with his parents. Plus, I want to know how Geo handled his mother when he came back to the States. And I want angst with some awesome groveling on Geo's part. Sidenote: I feel like I missed a chapter because it was never explained in the story how Geo found out how his mother propositioned Julia. Plus who is the new investor of the furniture store???

Any additional comments?

My only disappointment with the story itself was that I feel that the angst in the story ended too quickly. Julia was too easy to say "okay, Geo." I do not want to give away anything, but I wanted Geo begging. Julia should have made him sweat. I feel like Geo did not realize his own mistake in the situation until it was pointed out to him I love a man who grovels and there was not enough groveling for me.

Disappointing book...😞

I have to agree it is very difficult to finish this book. First the narrator is horrible and the quality of the sound is awful...it is a shame AUDIBLE. You have a reputation and a brand to keep, it is not about the money people pay to listen. Even for free, you should take it out and make it right!
I loved Ruth Cardello's book Lone Star Series and then I started to search for other books but this one was a disappointment...
The story was simple and the heroine annoying at times (very shallow and with a weak back bone).
I do not know if she improved with time but I might give her another chance. Andrade's series not so sure...

Grammykk

I really enjoyed the story but the narrator was not so good. In most of it she read too fast for my liking and just didn’t put any flare in her reading.

Story awesome, fuzzy performance I can get over

The story itself is awesomely me. I haven't found a book by Ruthie that I haven't lived. The preformance was good, however the staticky sound in the background can be a little distracting. On a good note after a while I Got used to it so it didn't bother me but either way I enjoyed the book.

come away with me, even better

I really enjoyed reading this book but now listening to it made the experience double. I love how this narrator read it. Her tone matched each emotion exactly as I read it myself.

Good book

I enjoyed this book very much. As usual Ruth Cardello has written a story that captivated me. Gino and Julia start off their relationship with a bump on his head and as the story progresses are involved in a very bumpy ride.
But of course, as is true of the majority of romance literature, there is a happy ending.
I loved the way Gio had difficulty believing he had done anything wrong whenever he upset Julia. He had a lot to overcome in that department, but in others he was superb. And he was very romantic, sometimes to the extreme, but I'm not complaining - it made good reading.
Julia is not a dumb bimbo by any means. She comes across as responsible, caring, level headed and very lovable and has a great sense of humour.
The narrator, Kim Thompson, did a good job.
I just have a complaint with the quality of the recording as the constant buzz in the background was very annoying.

Nice story.

I read the reviews for this story and they seemed mean spirited to me. The story, the narrator, the speed and the sound quality were all criticized. I like both the story and the characters. The narrator was great too. I like the narrator from the earlier books as well. The speed can be controlled by a selection on our device and I wasn’t distracted or annoyed by the background noise. I barely noticed it. This will be one the stories I’ll listen to over and over.

Terrible sound quality

I really can’t say anything about the book itself, because I never made it past the 2nd chapter. The tin-like sound quality made it impossible to listen to anymore. I had hoped it was only in the first chapter, but that wasn’t the case. I normally enjoy Ruth’s books, but I will pass on this one.
