Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second stand-alone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned.

By her boyfriend she found in her bed...with someone else.

By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.

By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.

When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still...a rebound has never looked so good.

That's her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone. Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He's a man who carries his own scars - the ones on his back, the survivor's guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.

When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?

Hot

Who does not love to hear Andi and Sebastian read? I loved how they made Grady and Dylan come to life in this story. One of my all time favorite series.

LOVED IT!!

Any additional comments?

This book was so good! I listen to books while I work, but this one I continued at home too.
Although I think you should read the book “Cuffed” first BC it’s really the first book in this series.
Would recommend both books!

Combust is smokin hot!

Loved this book! This book takes you on an emotional journey with two broken souls as they find the strength to heal in each other. It is sweet, sexy and smokin hot. This story was brought to life by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York's phenomenal narration. They have you laughing, crying and most definitely leave you swooning!

5 Combust Stars

Well, well, well, K. Bromberg does it again. She sucked me in from the first line to the last.
I was a little iffy going into this book because I am freaked about fire, always have been probably always will be. And seeing it on TV or reading about it gives me the willies. Butttt I couldn’t resist this cover!!

Grady is smokin' hot and still sweet, I really loved that his friend asked him for help and he was like sure your sister can say here no problem. That just goes to show you he is a really great friend.

Dylan is sweet and totally nursing a wounded heart. But I think getting to see Grady and his circle of friends helps sooth that heart just a little. Who can be sad when you have a bunch of good-looking fellas around.

Their friendship really does pay a big role in how they become more and it is sweet and sexy all at the same time.

And hellooooooooo SebYo is the voice of Grady… Enough said! ;)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Loved it!

You know what I love about K. Bromberg? She can give us a great realistic love story. Don’t get me wrong, romance books where billionaire men fall in love with a regular girl can fulfill your HEA craving momentarily but it’s stories likes these that stay with you forever. Realistic characters, with regular houses/jobs and real insecurities make relating to these stories easier. Knowing that we all have insecurities and when you find that one person who thinks you’re perfectly imperfect is something we all hope for. Thank you for giving us respectable male leads and strong female characters. This is a beautiful emotional roller coaster I’d be happy to ride again. P.S. Sebastian York and Andi Ardnt rock!

SOO GOOD!

This book hit all my hot spots! It had well developed characters that you couldn't help but fall in love with, Flaming Chemistry, and a sweet sweet love story! I loved every second of it~

Andi and Sebastian gave a wonderful performance. The narration was spot on and so yummy.

I had absolutely no complaints! Will highly recommend.

Highly Flammable

Touching and sensual story between a fire fighter who lost a friend and blames himself,a songwriter who is heartbroken over a betrayal. Both have insecurities, physical and emotional and together they help eachother heal. They learn to allow love in,to take a leap of faith and to provide eachother with the support they both need.Want more Sebastian,he had small parts in this story.Andi did great as usual even though she was the primary narrator. They work well together narrating books.Awesome love story!

The Heat Goes On

Grady and Dylan.
She's a songwriter for the country's top singer and hot man, who also happens to be her boyfriend. And she find him in bed with another woman, who berates her, and leaves Dylan feeling less than perfect .
Grady is one of Sunnyville's fireman . He also happens to be the survivor of the pair of the "Two in - Two out" rule that Grady has with his fellow firefighter . Add a severe fire Grady's partner doesn't come out alive, and Grady suffers severe third-degree burns on his back and neck .
Dylan needs a place to go to get away from her former boyfriend and her brother , sends her to his best friends place , Grady's. Unbeknownst to the two of them , their life is going to be turned upside down and sideways .
Dylan has to finish writing songs for her ex-boyfriend's album . And Grady listens to her saying that he doesn't get to hear the whole words of the song . It's not until her her ex-boyfriend shows up at the house, still professing his "love". And she rebukes him continually.
Grady having been given heads up, walks in to the door and says, "Honey, I'm home!"
Then he walked into the kitchen , and gives his "girlfriend" because of her life . This starts the sham of them being boyfriend and girlfriend . Little does Dylan know nor Grady for that matter , that when they spend the night in bed together that flames will soon be flying high .
Grady has the terrible fear of going back into the fire because of what happened to his friend. And Dylan is the one who shows him that he can go back in and fight a fire and be the person that he loves to be. A firefighter.
The fire hall is making their first ever calendar, in memory of the firefighter who they lost, and for his family . Dylan promises that she will be there with him while he poses for the calendar. What shocks them more than anything is a picture that shows up for the month of August . It's a black-and-white picture , Of Grady looking over shoulder at Dylan , with the most perfect smile , and love in his eyes that is hard to miss. His unspoken love for Dylan .
It's not until there's a severe fire further up in California that really worries Dylan . But his fire hall hasn't been called up yet .
Now, as the days get closer for Dylan to leave, now that she's fine wished the album, she only wants to hear Grady to ask her to stay.
And Grady knows he loves Dylan , just doesn't know how to tell her .
Well-written and wonderfully read .

Marriage WILL NEVER BE THE ICING ON THE CAKE

Dear Ms Bromberg , I really enjoyed your writing , however i will never again pay for one of your books if you tell us women that marriage is ' the icing on the cake '- YOU ARE DEAD WRONG ...it is the foundation that our society is built on!
