From Lynn Carlyle…… Colin’s Saga is a two story set, including Colin’s Crisis and Colin’s New Life, both previously published as standalone works. Colin’s Saga begins when a young woman by the name of Colin Hendricks is offered a diversion from prosecution for endangering herself and others while driving. Through the intervention of a judge in her rural Tennessee community, she is given the opportunity to spend some time living and working at a local farm under the firm supervision of widower Tom Martindale and his son Marcus. It gives her the opportunity to learn responsibility and self-discipline. And any discipline she cannot summon up through her own will, comes courtesy of the firm hand of Tom Martindale, or a paddle that his son Marcus hangs on the wall of the barn. Through this first story of the set, Colin not only finds guidance, but romance as well. In the second story, Colin is now the wife of Marcus. Now she must play a role in orienting any other young adult visitors who come to the ranch for the same purpose as did she. But Colin still has some growing up to do, and even though she is now a married woman, she has not completely moved on from the urge to test the boundaries to be reassured that she will not be allowed to stray too far. And Colin knows and accepts the consequences of stepping out of line. Anthologies & Short Stories Contemporary
