Entertaining Sci-Fi

This was my first experience with Robert Carnevale's work and I enjoyed it. Once I started the audiobook, I had to listen to it until the end. The characters were interesting. The plot was well-written and convoluted. There were some action scenes, a few times where coarse language was utilized, and also flashes of humor. I'm looking forward to more stories written by this author. J. Scott Bennett's narration was great and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Aggressively American

I received this title for free and I am providing an honest review.

It was just bad all around. The opening scene was foreboding enough and ended up proving true. I hated every chapter.

The book is like a mash up of a propaganda video and C-list movie plots. America had to be mentioned in some way in every other sentence. Author relied much too heavily on trite sayings and predictable dialogue. I related to no characters because hardly anything was explained or adequately detailed.
