Publisher's Summary

Want to learn more about cognitive behavioral therapy? Would you like to understand how to stop stress and stop thinking too much? If so, listen on!

CBT has been shown to be effective in relieving symptoms in a wide range of mental health problems, ranging from addiction to schizophrenia, along with almost everything in between. It has been shown to be useful for longer than drugs and other forms of therapy.

CBT is so effective for one main reason: It gives you back control. Many of the anxiety symptoms experienced revolve around a perceived lack of control over the situation and through CBT and learning the skills needed to cope, you are given control of the situation.

Excessive thinking can be a side effect of some nervousness problems; however, it can also be an indication of simply being overwhelmed.

In any case, it is extremely difficult to pull yourself out of a fall or find a replacement route that has never traveled.

The main goal of the book is to go through the steps that will improve your way of thinking

This book covers the following topics

  • What is cognitive behavioral therapy?
  • Stages of cognitive behavioral therapy
  • How CBT differs from other therapies and why it is important
  • Is CBT right for you?
  • Definition of excessive thinking
  • How to identify if you are an excessive thinker
  • The relationship between excessive thinking, anxiety, and stress
  • Think negative
  • How to use excessive thinking to your advantage
  • And more

CBT, although shorter than most other types of therapy, teaches a multitude of coping skills and mechanisms, you will be able to become self-reliant. This book will show you how to solve your overthinking problems to find a sense of ease and happiness in your life.

Clear, Concise, Informative and very clear..

This book was very helpful in understanding cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in general as well as how it can be applied to specific types of situations. The book also included examples which demonstrated how to use the given CBT techniques in a role-play (“real life practice”) manner. The listener was also pleasant to listen to and I never found the book very helpfull. Definitely recommend!

Great introductory material to understanding CBT

The Author was detailed in explaining CBT. The client sessions were helpful in understanding how to use CBT. I think it’s a great first CBT book for newer therapists. I found myself getting attached to each individual and hoping that they do well.

Professionally Informative and Personally Useful

This is one of the best audiobooks I have ever purchased. I thought I would just be learning about CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I did learn a ton. But I also can honestly say that this audio course changed my life bc it taught me how to see my own thoughts and feelings from a more objective perspective.

The material is spot on and organized in a clear

Narration is clear. Pace is measured so listener easily follows explanations. I enjoy the solution-oriented goal setting of (CBT) therapy. While at the same time emphasizing the Human Side of the interaction with a development of coping skills that enables an individual to have a higher quality of life.

someone looking for self-help for minor issues.

This is a good audiobook for someone looking for self-help for minor issues. The author does give a warning in the beginning of the audiobook about getting professional help if the feelings become overwhelming.
