Best easy book so far

It gets five stars because it is the best so far. I couldn't get through 'Feeling Good' which is the most recommended CBT workbook. CBT in 7 Weeks is short and to the point. The structure and speed of learning are where this book shines the most.My issues are with anxiety. My obsessive thinking is still there, but my anxiety has greatly reduced. Because my issues are with anxiety I can't speak to its efficacy on depression nor phobias.

self-improvement

The answers to these questions - and the path to lasting change in your life - lie in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a well-tested collection of practical techniques for managing moods and modifying undesirable behaviors through self-awareness, critical analysis, and goal-oriented change. CBT illuminates the links between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical health and uses those connections to develop concrete plans for self-improvement. Built on a solid foundation of neurological and behavioral research, CBT is an approach almost anyone can use for promoting greater mental health and improving quality of life.

A great research audio book

This book has been added to my resources on this subject. He covers the gamut of CBT and, most importantly, adds new material from research that has been conducted since the originators of this very effective therapy ( mindfulness for example).

An excellent step by step audio book

It is an excellent step by step audio book. Finally I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative pessimistic state.

Comprehensive audio book

I highly recommend this audio book! If you’ve ever struggled with negative emotions or negative thinking and are looking for ways to combat them, you will find that this book is a great resource. Comprehensive and accessible, CBT Made Simple is a powerful new tool for somebody searching for ways to cope with a broad range of emotional challenges. Daniel Anderson clearly and concisely presents strategies for dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, panic and worry. His tips and suggestions are easy to follow and everything is explained with an abundance of illustrative examples. Especially helpful is the fact that he groups the multitude of CBT strategies into three groups: Think, Act, Be. Breaking CBT down to just three basic groupings makes the task of tackling one’s problematic feelings and behaviors feel less daunting and more manageable.

Makes CBT concepts easy to understand and apply fo

Daniel Anderson does an incredible job of teaching CBT concepts in a manner that is simple and easily digestible yet comprehensive and rich. He packages traditional CBT and mindfulness concepts nicely with easy to remember steps of "Think, Act, and Be." His language is clear, enjoyable, and relatable. CBT Made Simple helps you to take action with chapter summaries, worksheets, and homework. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with common difficulties of anxiety, depression, procrastination, stress, or anger, especially for those who are not ready or able to try therapy or are new to CBT. At the same time, this book a wonderful recommendation as a supplement to CBT treatment or as a refresher or relapse prevention tool for those who have learned these skills. As I CBT therapist myself, I have already recommended this book to colleagues and several of my own patients!

This audio book is definitely a go to for anyone interested in internalizing the best nuggets that CBT has to offer. The wide range of symptoms targeted in this book help orient listeners to efficient and effective ways of incorporating these strategies into their daily lives. The example clients were especially helpful when identifying certain issues and targeting them with each skill. The worksheets makes the process seamless and help visualize what can sometimes be tricky concepts to understand.

Very helpful and thorough

This is definitely worth the listen. Has some great practical tips on how to actively improve your thinking. From what S.M.A.R.T. goals are and how to set them, to actively working on the weak points we all have in our personalities. I can appreciate the real world examples. I would have like to hear more about using CBT around limiting beliefs outside of a clinical setting because I think there's potential for application in varying aspects of life. I find with listening to books, I need to put it on 2x speed to stay actively engaged. All in all, this was a great introduction to CBT and it's spurred me to pick up more books on it.
