Horrible

This book was not helpful at all. It was CBT 101 and was a very basic overview. Highly disappointed and professionals don’t buy the book. Waste of time and money.

Good advice that requires commitment

I found this book to be a mostly easy read. Other than the occasional tangent into technical jargon, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Good advice that is easy to implement and doesnt cost much (if any) money.

Wonderfully Surprised

Most wonder full is the embrace of religion, spirituality and philosophy as a practice in cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a breath of fresh air in an all too secular world. Word, meditation and prayer are highly valued. Philosophy, from the Greeks, is shown to embody much of what is cognitive behavioral therapy. Healthier living is also shown to influence ones thoughts and lives for the better.

Highly recommend

I’m a therapist, and bought this as a refresher for the CBT modality. I appreciate that it reads kind of like a self help book, which makes it easier to translate for my clients. Easy to read and follow.

Lovely Illustrations

A beautiful, profound and poetic tale of a parent's love for their child. It tells about how a parent and child see time differently. However, they can still enjoy a beautiful moment together. This is a picture book with lovely illustrations that goes along perfectly with this story.

Great book for personal use

It's very easy to use for an individual or in a session with clients. I like that there are "homework" type questions at the end of each chapter and worksheets you can photocopy to hand out or just use yourself

CBT Expertise at Your Fingertips

Practical, grounded in research, accessible. In my podcast interview with Dr. Author, it became clear he has a solid grasp of CBT. His book is full of exercises that don’t require a doctor’s help.

How to build a better relationship with yourself

This audiobook easy to feel depressed and anxious. Negative thoughts about my self and societal worth are frequently present, and it's very easy to fall into the trap of believing my limitations are catastrophic and unchangeable.

Great content, shame about the narration

I took a lot from this book, but I must say the content is let down by the narrator. It’s almost as if it is an electronic narration (perhaps it is?), it at times distracts from the content, but if you can hear past that and take in the words, it’s worth the purchase.
