Publisher's Summary

Are you not feeling like yourself? It is okay not to be okay sometimes. What most people tend to forget is that it is perfectly fine that you are not on the top of your game all the time. It does not always need to be a serious condition or a situation to make a person feel bad. However, people sometimes cannot handle their problems on their own and need professional help in order to get better. That is why they undergo therapy run by professional therapists that guide people through their process of feeling better.

In this audiobook, you will learn about a therapy called "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy". You can read all about what it is, how to prepare for it, what to expect from it, how it will affect your life and emotions, and finally, how it will apply to your own personal trip of healing and getting better. You will also learn how to choose your therapist, to work on yourself in between sessions, what conditions CBT treats, and many other useful information on improving your general mental health.

Here is a preview of what you'll learn:

  • What cognitive behavioral therapy is
  • How cognitive behavioral therapy can help you
  • Starting your CBT journey
  • Step-by-step CBT guide
  • What cognitive behavioral therapy treats
  • How to get most of your CBT treatment
  • Differences between CBT and other similar approaches
  • What can you do on your own to think positively and feel better

Wonderful and comprehensive book on Cognitive Beha

Wonderful and comprehensive book on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and written in such a way even an undergraduate going into psychology can understand. I would say based on the empirical evidence on the effectiveness of CBT on many disorders this book is a must read for anyone in the field.

I will be recommending this.

Well-done! I’m not sure what to expect from the session I took in, so I got this guide. Covers almost everything a person needs to know and what illnesses CBT can cure. I’ll be surely recommending this.

This is beautiful! I’m learning a lot from this and reflecting on the message of this book. The takeaways from this book are mind-blowing especially on the harmful versus neutral thoughts.

Wonderful listening piece.

I am now considering CBT as one of the effective treatments for stress and depression simply because a lot of my friends have vouched for it. Although I am not yet sure how to go about it, I am now slowly exploring it with the help of this listening piece.

Many factors will involve in the cognitive behavior of a human. This is the general information of the behavioral therapy but a very good topic to listen. Perfect guide!

Brilliant discussion!

The main idea of CBT is that what we think, how we feel, and how we act are connected. And that these three factors affect our overall being. David Craft sure did make a brilliant discussion!

Fixing

If you want to solve and fix things for your clients then this is a book you might find useful. However if you want to work in a relational or client focused stance then don't bother... A very surfaceook at cbt.

Disappointing

This book is NOT self help, in fact useless without a councillor. Explains CBT but NOT a guide to becoming free of Anxiety and Depression. Disappointing

ongoing basis

I found it very useful in assisting with treatment planning for clients. It's explaining at an accessible level for the newer therapist and will be a good resource to refer back to on an ongoing basis.

An excellent resource! The text is perhaps a bit

An excellent resource! The text is perhaps a bit dialogue/scenario heavy for my tastes, but it's also really a wealth of good info, including plenty of great homework templates. The physical book is a bit small, which I don't love, and the audible version lacks pagination, which drove me batty.
