Publisher's Summary

Are you ready to take control of your mind? And overcome anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts?

If you are looking for a way to deal with your mental issues once and for all, then Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: An Effective Practical Guide for Rewiring Your Brain and Regaining Control over Anxiety, Phobias, and Depression is the audiobook you have been waiting for.

Current estimates put the number of adults in the US dealing with some form of unresolved mental issue at more than 40 million. The good news is that if you are dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, a phobia-based fear, or more then there is an alternative out there that's as equally effective as any pharmaceutical on the market today and it’s known as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a type of psychotherapy that works around the assumption that there are simply some behaviors that cannot be controlled through conscious thought alone. In fact, it posits that all behaviors actually occur thanks to a mixture of internal and external stimuli and a lifetime of conditioning in one of an infinite number of ways and offers up numerous different exercises that can be done on your own as a way to replace negative habits with positive ones.

From this audiobook you will find a wide variety of different mental and physical exercises you can do all by yourself in order to take back control of your life once and for all.

From this audiobook you will find:

  • Breathing techniques to manage stress and anxiety
  • Ways to expose yourself to the triggers of your mental issues to strengthen your resolve
  • Tips for picking out and discarding negative mental patterns
  • Easy ways to pinpoint your cognitive distortions and remove them once and for all
  • And more…

So, what are you waiting for? Get ready to finally change your life for the better, buy this audiobook today and start your healing journey!

Definitely a great first step.

This book helped me realize how seeing things in a positive rather than a negative way can really make an impact in your life. As the book mentions, this is not going to resolve all of your issues but it is definitely a great first step.

What and why of certain techniques.

This would be useful to b someone considering therapy for the first time. It doesn't have enough depth to substitute for therapy, which is a good things, but does give insight into the what and why of certain techniques.

Concise, easy to read resource

This book helped me so much! I knew about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy before reading it, but didn’t know how to implement it as part of my life. It was written in a clear and concise way that was easy for the average person to understand. I also really enjoyed the step by step exercises to help deal with intrusive thoughts. Wallace also does a great job of adding quotes and pop culture references so that it feels educational but not like you’re reading a dense college textbook. It was also really helpful to read about the different healthy behaviors.

Easy-read, but full of great info

This a concise and easily understandable intro to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It offers great, normalizing, non-judgmental advice and techniques for those looking to understand how/why intrusive thoughts affect our lives, and how to “move on”. The techniques and suggestions are practical, and the book offers workbook pages at the back so that readers may implement techniques and set goals for themselves. Overall, a great read with some great information!

Mental Positive

I really enjoyed this book! It is incredibly easy to follow and the techniques are natural and progressive. I love that this approach affirms our own ability to heal our own mind while drawing on our own strength ("Physician, Heal Thyself") but also encourages openness in reaching out for professional help.

Reading this book, not only provided easy to understand terminology, it also gave me some great advice on steps to take and tools to use. Concise and well written

I learned inside the book the tremendous distinction between Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The last focuses on the mental features of conduct versus Cognitive Behavior Therapy the spotlights on negative reasoning examples. Informative read with strategies that you can begin utilizing quickly and Authoreven separates objective setting in a manner I have never thought of.

Wonderful! really amazing.

Very pleased with this purchase! I haven't been able to go to a therapist in quite some time but I've already received more from this book in two weeks than I have from probably ALL of my past therapists combined. Well, one specific therapist excluded, but he was amazing!
