Useless

This is a terrible book. It lists all the kinds of therapies you can think of, does a section on people with anxiety, and then has a few chapters that are absolutely pathetic. I could’ve written this book, and I’m sorry I spent any money on it. In fact, I am going to ask for a refund.

Substance made simple

What did you love best about Cognitive Behavior Therapy?

The best part is that it REALLY WORKS!! The way you think is absolutely impacted, which in turn impacts the way you live and the way you experience living. You will not regret buying this book. In addition to being great for individuals, I can also imagine using this strategy in schools with students and in coaching relationships in addition to counseling.

Have you listened to any of Michael Hatak’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Michael Hatak has done a great Job the explanations were very good and neat performance

Any additional comments?

I love this book. Based on cognitive behavior therapy, the author clearly and concisely explains how our behavior is affected by negative messages we receive early in life. Sadly, those messages can replay in our heads and negatively impact our adult lives. Would you like to learn how to identify and stop negative self-talk, gain greater self-awareness and give yourself permission to stand up for yourself? Here are practical and tactical steps to a freer, happier life. What are you waiting for?

Change your brain, change your life.

It's not what I thought it was about, but it was a pretty good book. The author has a lot of good ideas about mental health and I was pleased to see that he included nutrition and supplementation among his treatment plans. He has a lot of references sprinkled in and it took me about two weeks longer than o expected because wonderful book, am finding out so much that i did not know very interesting

Outstanding book

If you could sum up Cognitive Behavior Therapy in three words, what would they be?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a well established treatment method and can be of great benefit to anyone, whether suffering from an illness or not! It is one of the most popular therapies which deal with a variety of physical, emotional and general illnesses.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If you want to know about it in detail ,you may follow this book. It is a very detailed and descriptive book on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Any additional comments?

The basic premise behind CBT is to influence the way someone behaves emotionally and physically by changing the way they think and view the world around them. Of course, it is a little more complex than that! This book introduces you to CBT and what it is and how it can be of benefit to a variety of people.

Valuable Content.

This was very good for beginners, and for people who have been considering CBT. It gave a good explanation of Cognitive Distortions, and is worth reading if one is considering therapy or self help with anxiety. This is a good introduction to CBT. It explains what it is and what it could be used for. It is however I think just scratching the surface and leaves you wanting to know a lot more

highly recommended

I would highly recommend this book to others looking to change their minds for the better we cannot change our chemicals but we CAN learn to override the trouble they can cause to a point and this book really helps with that. I have children with this issue and I can see working with them to teach them these skills and help them get their own issues under control.

Amazing book

Very pleased with this purchase! I haven't been able to go to a therapist in quite some time but I've already received more from this book in two weeks than I have from probably ALL of my past therapists combined. Well, one specific therapist excluded, but he was amazing! (DBT therapist)

GOOD....GOOD...GOOD

After being in a rehabilitation program that focuses on CBT, this book is a great refresher to help after you leave. I had a more severe case of anxiety and depression which required a more inpatient program. After I left, I struggled to keep up with the daily activities that I needed to do. This book was great to help me keep on track. I highly recommend if you can't go to into a program but want to learn the same information.

good self help book

I really enjoyed the approach this book takes. It encourages you to go through slowly, one chapter per week, doing the exercises and really thinking about how you feel and why you feel that way. The book encourages you to change aspects of your thinking and your behavior by suggesting alternative ways of being. A lot of the material proved to be an eye opener for me. It is essential that the reader takes the time to write down their thoughts as requested throughout the book. Take the time to review these notes as you progress through the book, you will learn a lot.
